Hi everyone, I hope i can get some help here.
Ive been using the LMT tool quite successfully. I'm writing a guide on the process to help others. But ive run into a couple of walls.
1. When you swap a strike animation: (Wesker / Cobra strike) with a throw animation: (Josh / Choke Slam) your character will do the animation but it wont pull the majini into the throw / kill them. Am i right in assuming you would have to modify the majinis animation lmt instead? Or is there a way to tell the animation this is a throw / grab. If the melee being swapped is also a throw type animation does it work? ie swap chris neckbreaker for sheva throat slit. I have seen videos where they have done this and it works it just makes the wrong sound effect. Because if you do a melee swap via a trainer it will work 100%.
I noticed there doesnt seem to be an animation for "getting hit by Cobra strike" in Weskers lmt but there is an animation in Josh's lmt for getting hit with Choke Slam.

2. For some reason a few of Jills kicks will mess up a male face, Excellas first aid aswell. Is there anyway to stop this happening? This happens either with using a trainer or swapping the melee with the lmt tool. For example if i give Wesker Jills kick via the lmt tool process his face will mess up. Likewise if i load Josh with razors trainer and swap his melee to jills the same kicks will also mess up his face. None of Rebecca or Shevas moves will cause a face to mess up. Likewise Jills kicks dont mess up Sheva if swapped.

Apart from these snags i have had a lot of success with it. I managed to build a Piers that had a combination of Wesker, Jill, Josh and Excellas melee moves.

1. You have to change the majini's reaction animations in the player's LMT file too. For example, if you want to use Josh's suplex to replace Chris's neckbreaker, you have to: -replace the neckbreaker animation (animation 07) in pl00action with suplex animation (animation 07) from pl04action -replace the neckbreaker reaction (animation 13) in pl00action to suplex reaction (animation 13) from pl04action. The reaction for grab animation is usually labelled as animation 13. Sometimes the descriptions are not very accurate though (ie Chris's animation 13 description) 2. Well, I have no clue how to solve this other than try to use other animations for trial and errors though.

Hi Verdugo, thank you for the reply. Ive done some testing and i dont think Josh's chokeslam can be placed anywhere else. Unless im hoping you know something i dont.
I wanted it on Piers' face shot so its like his re6 attack. I was reading through some old threads and apparently grapples can only be swapped with other grapples. I did some testing; I swapped Josh's suplex for his chokeslam. Swapping both the throw animation and the majini reaction animation. It worked but because it was a back attack the majini falls behind him and it looks really silly lol.
I was then excited to realize that Barrys headbutt is a grapple so i swapped it with chokeslam. But when you swap it Barry just does hurricane for some reason he wont do chokeslam. I dont know why this is, everything else swaps to Barry fine.
Only thing I havent tried now is Excellas frontal leg melee as i believe that is a forward facing throw.

Regarding Jill's kicks I ws wondering if perhaps i could place female face lmt files in Piers' arc somehow to give him the kick without his face deforming. Maybe i dont know, im still really new to this.
