So I purchased RE4 off steam this year (2021) and none of them are working. I’m using Fluffy and it’s worked for 3make and 5.... Help please!

I tried for the darkness mod, makes it all night time. And switching Leon for Jill. Tried hard, still nothing working for steam version

Do you use Fluffy manager to install mods to RE4 UHD ?
Usually it does not work for UHD. You need Raz0r's companion DLL if you want to use Fluffy manager to install mods to UHD.
Or you can do manual installation without using fluffy manager.

I tested village part of the mod. I used Crash fix too. What I did is renaming St1 folder to "St1-bak" then copy St1 folder of the mod. St1 folder of game original and mod, both include 34 files. So this method is correct. My conclusion is you don't mistake anything. This mod is corrupted. My game crashes when I start a new game. But when I load save data it worked. So you would better make a save at the 1st typewriter of the village before installing the mod. Then install the mod and load the save. Darkness effect does not start at the entrance of the village. It starts from the central of the village.

It starts from the central of the village. So what you’re saying is redownload 4, and then can I get very specific directions? Or a video? I’m so sorry, I must seem so stupid. But I’ve never modded before. Is it the same as RE5 Nightmare? I had to download each file and slowly add everything. Same thing?

I think he is saying that you should start a new game without the mod installed, then create a save at the first typewriter by the truck (little cabin). After creating the save, install the mod then load the save and see if it works.

I appreciate everyone being so responsive. Most of these boards seem dead. Is it hard to get skin or costume mods working?

It can be tricky for sure as there are varying degrees of hierarchy loading orders of game files. The fact the game crashes on missing textures doesn't make things any easier to troubleshoot. The truth is this game is a real pain to mod.

Is there a way to upload the working finished Bio4 Darkness file here so people can just easy use it? Or is that a huge NO-NO?

So like the whole Bio4 file that’s all set up with RoD working is what I am talking about for uploading here for other people to download. Also leave the important note that you made about saving before installing and the St1-bak change
