If anyone here is familiar with the Wii edition of Resident Evil 4, you'll remember that there is a target reticle that replaces the laser sight when using the Wii remote to aim. I love playing Resident Evil 4 on the Wii, and I feel like this would have been a reasonable feature to add to the RE4 UHD version from the start of production. Unfortunately this is not the case, and I have never been able to find a mod that replicates this feel for the game. Is there any possible mods out there that I have been overlooking? If there is not a mod out there already, how should I start making a mod like this on my own? I have been interested in diving into the modding scene recently, and I feel this task to be fairly simple (at least on the surface) for an absolute beginner like me to tackle. Thank you for your time, and have a great day!

I think that would need a hole coding just to be possible, so that's very unlikely to happen.
Too bad CAPCOM is lazy as hell, because 5 had this option since release, but 4 never got it in it's re-release years later.

I tried to implement it some time ago, the problem the crosshead does not point where the pointer of the weapon follows the movement of the mouse, not the aim of the game aiming at the crow, but looking at it with the laser still does not detect it aiming at the crow with the laser sight, but the crosshair is retracted from this A project that leaves quickly XD

Here is a theory; the laser is an effect in the core.udas. If so, then it would probably use a bloom texture for the part of the laser that touches interactable things (enemies, ites that can be shot). ID this were the case it would be possible to replace the texture call to another custom one, but.... this would only affect the end of the laser and it would not appear all the time. NEGAARMAX can you tell us a bit about your experiments? I mean, explain the process a bit? I once made a bloom 'flashlight' that followed the player around, so I am fairly sure if you mapped the effect to the correct bone it could be done, but.... it would need to be in the effect group the laser uses otherwise it would be seen even while not aiming. I wish I had time to test this out, but I am too busy. Maybe when I have time I will check to see if it is in the core.udas. If its in there, I am sure I could make this work.

Hi, the truth is I have no experience in modifying these types of files, maybe this one but no idea, I added it externally using Re-shade and a cursor plug-in with the custom cursor texture of Wii in HD. I will leave it here in case someone is interested or if they want to modify that file to make it coincide with the look. >Link<Note: Reshade includes my Reshade settings, just open the Reshade (Home) menu and enable the cursor filter
