Title says most of it. The model works fine with rigging (though I think the jiggle physics might not be present- that's likely a bone naming issue)
and it is visible in game; however, it is untextured.
the mesh is directly taken from the original RE2 mod, just with the numbers at the end of the extension changed to fit RE3. (to clarify, I mean the numbers after .mesh.)
I've used RETool to convert the textures to RE3's format, and when reconverting them to DDS after the transformation, they look fine.
My largest concerns:
1. will I have to re-unwrap the model? or can I simply change the texture source/file name?
2. How can I change the source unwrapped texture in 3ds max?
and another problem connected: 3. When I export the model from 3ds max and use it, it is absent in game (no missing texture, just empty space) What could I be doing wrong with this?
-----------------------
UPDATE!
Model works great now after export, is textured, and rigged properly.
However, the texture is off. Idk what the problem is in that case, but I'm inclined to try to find out. any suggestions? (texture is an RPD logo. it almost looks like a wall texture, but it's possible that it is just a stray character texture)

So, Update:
I managed to export a model, and reopen it in the actual game.
It was fairly simple: all I needed to do was unwrap the UVs, and export. HOWEVER: the bones are screwed up, and the texture is bizarre. It almost looks like a wall texture, though it might just be something I overlooked (AKA an unchanged file.)
solution: I'll look through, at the bone names and reconfigure if anything is amiss
