(THE NEW UPDATE IS HERE!)*scroll down for added topic "update information"
I HAVE FIANNALY POSTED PHOTOS OF THE RE-SHADE IN ACTION!
But this re-shade that I have created gives Resident Evil 4 a brand new coat of paint that we all never knew we could achieve.
I have folders in the download to demonstrate these 3 key changes.
The changes made
1.)Depth of Field
This not only gives great atmosphere and restores the fog that was intended to be seen as thick and muggy(moisture in the air) But restores the depth of field in all cutscenes.
2.)Contact Shadows
Now instead of the little circular shadow that enemies and you the player *Leon* cast when in game, Shadows are now made apparent when in contact with the environment.
3.) Reflections
This not only gives the game proper lighting effects that do not rely on specular effects but in fact real time lighting and reflections, This makes the world around you have more Physical texture instead of flat planes with textures applied to them.
Download and you will not regret this choice.
I have been hard at work trying to make this playable and I am more than pleased to see this work.
Instructions on downloading these files(if not familiar with re-shade):
1.)If you already have any re-shade files downloaded delete them and replace them with My files provided with the download*not including the demo pictures XD* (this ensures that the version of
re-shade used in this pack is 100% compatible for use.)
2.) If you have never used and or have never applied a Re-Shade file to a game simply Copy The "reshade-shaders" folder, "DefaultPreset.ini" file, and the "ReShade.ini"file and paste those in the "BIN32" folder from your copy of Resident Evil 4.
TO ENSURE THE RESHADE WORKS PROPERLY:
1.)Make sure that when you start the game to go to the DX9 tab in the Re-shade menu and turn on (depth buffer) to make the re-shade work.
2.)IT IS ESSENTIAL to have ANTI-ALIASING in the game settings to be turned off or else everything will not work properly within the Re-Shade.
OPTIONAL BUT RECCOMENDED
when in game press the home button. You should see the shader menu. Uncheck the boxes that I've highlighted in the following photo

UPDATE INFORMATION
"WHAT DOES THIS UPDATE MEAN?"
The short answer is that basically when playing the game with the Re-Shade on, It will be less of an eye sore
No, but essentially what this update does is that It gives proper reflections for specific environmental objects.
With the old version of the Re-Shade you would notice an odd effect *for example on character models* on polygons that pick up light from the environment and would give them a reflective surface. This was most apparent when Leon would aim, for his arms were always so sharp and shiny like a mirror. This issue has been fixed completely.
"WILL THERE BE MORE UPDATES IN THE FUTURE?"
I would say so!
Mainly because I will take feed back to heart and correct what ever issue is apparent.
TO SEE MY UPDATES AS OF (7/30/2021) UPDATES
"SO... DO YOU WANT CRITICAL FEED BACK?"
Obviously keep it appropriate, I understand how passionate people can get when they are wanting something really badly. But if there is something you want me to fix the feed back I pay attention to are comments that call on specifics.
"HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS?"
I have been working on this Re-Shade for 4 1/2 months. Why has it taken so long you may ask? Well mainly due to testing out all three biomes of the game to make sure that reflections and lighting stay consistent. I wanted to make sure that the game was playable and stays true to the look of the game without oversaturation of some elements in the game.

UPDATE INFORMATION
- I have tweaked the depth of field effects in order for smoother transitions from scene to scene without interfering with any gameplay moments. And not to worry, the depth of field in cutscenes are still as apparent as before and maybe even better since transitions from each scene focuses a lot more quickly and accurately than before.
- If you have played you may notice some shimmering and or sharp polygons on character models. Some of this has to do with the depth of field which I have already fixed. But this graphical error has been fixed completely. This fix also applies to the noticeable issue of reflective cloth based and brick based textures as well as dirt and leaves. One error you may have noticed for eagle eyed players is that once in a while there would be reflective ceilings and this was due to the vertical field of view, ray acceptance range, and although it was a slight change, the Ray length.
