AWESOME BRO One question about RE3
you can use this to erase some typewriters and boxes? and change the location fo key items like fire hose, chain cutter and lockpick?
Yep, you can use the gimmick editor to move all typewriters and boxes to something like 1000, 1000, 1000, and essentially they'd be gone from the game as the player wouldn't be able to access them. The items you mentioned can be changed too, they're in a file called "keyitems.scn" if I recall correctly.

Okay, possibly stupid question, so when editing Items, there are some on the list that just say ITEM - 0000 Nothing (x1) with the Item ID being 00 Nothing and the Description being [Null] What exactly does this mean? And what would happen if, I changed it...? Also, how could I change items outside of the RPD like the Basement, Sewers and Lab? No idea what will happen if you change a [Null] item, but try it!
Regarding the items from other places, you can change that too. The minimaps I included are just for the RPD, but if you open the item files from other levels you'll still see the position of them and you can change their properties.

Bug fixes!
Changelog 0.2: - Added ammo ID modifier for weapons (all weapons were using handgun ammo in 0.1 lol)

Hmm, okay... Any idea where I can find descriptions for the Shotgun and Grenade Launcher... Looking at both Leon and Claire's item files for the RPD, the list shows the MAC11 for Claire with the description being CLAIRE_wp2000_MachineGun and similarly with Leon and the Magnum, but neither character list show the Shotgun or Grenade Launcher, and using a site i found to read the 19file for Leon and Claire I can find those Magnum and Machine Gun description but not the other weapons... I apologies if these questions are annoying, I really want to be able to use this program, I just don't fully understand it... lol

How's it going people? I'm currently developing a set of tools for Resident Evil 2, and they seem to be working with 3 as well. My tools are aiming mostly at managing game progression. I really like how people make their own campaigns in the old games like RE2, RE3 and RE4, and I want to see similar stuff for the RE engine games. This set of tools will help you with that.
All of these modding tools has all chances to breathes new life into gameplay modification of RE series and set correct vector for education of gamedisgn by reducing the threshold for entering it. Excellent work.
I have a question about files: which files contains list of items on «Hardcore Difficulty»?
UPDATE:
Almost all items are located in the «Item» folder, where there are file «common.scn.19», as well as individual files with the prefix «Leon» and «Claire» where there is an individual list of items with different versions of same locations depending of character. The rest of the items are in the «fsm» folder. Apparently the game itself decides, depending on the difficulty level and the type of campaign, which items, in what quantity and where they will be located in the game.
However, already at the police station, I was not able to change some of the items through the editor: medicinal spray in the toilet and items in the locker (Ink Ribbon and Gun Powder) in the save room, which is located near to stairs on the first floor.
In the first case, the «First Aid Spray» in the bathroom is simply not displayed in the item editor. In the second case, the objects seem to be displayed (judging by the points on the beckground image) and through the tool they are edited, but in the game itself they do not change. Therefore, my question is: How to fix this, guys?
I have a wish for the future updates of «Item Editor» toolkit: It would be great if all the necessary files for editing came with toolkit and display of items was automatically adjusted depending on the selected location (background image). Thx.

I have a question about files: which files contains list of items on «Hardcore Difficulty»?As far as I could tell, there is no specific file for Hardcore difficulty. Certain items will/won't spawn on hardcore. For example, ink ribbons are hardcore only. When you check each file sometimes the item will have in it's description "nohard", these items won't spawn on hardcore.

Maybe you can give me any advice on how to solve the difficulties that I have encountered?

I have a wish for the future updates of «Item Editor» toolkit: It would be great if all the necessary files for editing came with toolkit and display of items was automatically adjusted depending on the selected location (background image). Thx. Ok, so I'm going to sum up my experiences using these amazing tools by Zealot. - As previously mentioned, if an item has "nohard" in it's description, it will not spawn on hardcore difficulty. - Some items had a description in english, while others in japanese. Off the top of my head mokuzai = wooden board, and koibito = lovers relief (heart key) there are probably others, but i don't remember them right now - As Leguar mentioned, some items do not show up in the editor, whether it's a limitation of the editor, or the items are stored elsewhere, I don't know. Right now there isn't a way to edit these items. So items that are inside of lockers, safes etc. can't be edited properly with the editor at the moment. However, For some items, for example the one inside Leon's desk, I was able to spawn an item outside of the desk in the same location, but the item you get from solving the two combination locks is still there. So while I couldn't replace the item inside the desk, I was able to spawn an item in the same position "outside" of the desk. - I have not thoroughly tested it, but several item locations show up as null in the editor. Some of these have a description that hints at what the location/item could be. Others are just empty. I suspect a lot of these items correspond to the items in lockers/safes. However whenever I edited these items, the above situation occurred, where the item spawned in addition to the actual item. - I've played through the game many times and memorized where all the items are, this helps when you're editing to create custom experiences. Most of my findings have come from comparing the files from a vanilla game to altered files with randomized item placements. - I posted in this topic early on when the tools were first released, hoping others would be able to share their experiences, but so far it's been pretty quiet. I'm hoping this can kickstart a sharing of ideas.

do i need to extract the re_chunk_000.pak in order to use this tool?
maybe we can mod it to reduce by 1/3 all items in hardcore mode in order to make the game a little more harder, really looking foward to see what people will do with this tool.

lumiereeclair, helpful information, thank you. Editing some individual items can be postponed for later, given that there are not many of them, but I have a more serious problem, which is that I cannot modify the item files in the lab. FluffyManager refuses to accept almost any unpacked lab files, even if they are not modified. I thought that the unpacked files were broken, but re-unpacking did not give any result. The problem is in the Fluffy Mod Manager or RE2Tool Unpacker or something else, what do you think? UPDATE: Screenshot: ibb.co/WDdsXf4

Yeah, you need to unpack "re_chunk_000.pak" and find the required files to use this tool. Regarding the complication of «Hardcore Difficulty»: This is exactly what I am working on now, although I take a slightly different approach to what you suggest.

Just out of curiosity, when you unpacked re_chunk did you unpack it into a separate folder from your main game folder? Try to see if any these steps help the issue. - If the unpacked files are in the main game folder, move them to a separate one. fluffymanager will "invalidate" the files inside re_chunk when you activate the mod. So there is no need to keep the unpacked files inside the main game folder, nor is there a need to repack the files after you edited them. - On fluffymanager, use the option to reread game archives. - Try a different version of fluffymanager. - If all else fails, upload your mod and I will take a look and see if I can replicate the issue on my end.
