I'm looking at getting into modding on my own. And not "here do it for me". I have experience with blender, but 3dsmax is new territory. And I've been trying to figure things out over the past few days just screwing with crap, breaking it, and reverting back to the default file.
Guess to get started; is their anyway to take the converted dds from the tex file, and somehow apply it within 3dsmax so that I can physically see the texture on the model? For now I'm just started out by finding a few free ones, extracting and tinkering with them so I can get that down, on top of being able to make simple edits, apply them via fluffy, and see them in-game.
I've watched a few tutorials on YT and have all the plugins (incl. the one for 3dsmax), but I can't seem to find any mention of materials/textures. I guess first things first, just being able to see the material on the model instead of solid colors would be great.
I did get Noesis running with the plugins supplied, and also read the documentation on using 101 Editor to locate materials, and I can pretty much view models + materials if I use Noesis, just curious if there's a way to apply them in 3dsmax.
Thanks.

Nevermind, apparently I just needed to dig a little harder.
Simply export from .tex to dds and then I saved as a PNG, then dragged the PNG into the viewport and I got my material.
