When sourcing assets for this, I came to the following realization:
Use Nier Assets -> High poly models, Low quality textures
Use Soulcalibur Assets -> Low Poly models, High quality textures
I ended up going the Soulcalibur route since I find restoring geometric detail a lot easier than doing the same for textures. I selectively did some tessellation passes on parts of the model, which yielded good results.
