I noticed there's a mod that removes the zoom when aiming. It does make it hard to see a bit, but I came to prefer it because after I went back, the zoom felt quite unnecessary. I think when you pull out the knife, the fov switch that happens there is much better. It essentially zooms in and moves the camera behind more for aiming, instead of literally zooming so far in you can only see Jill's head and arms.
Personally, I think this is a must along with a few other things.
Like adding Leon's classic costume to the game as Jill and Carlos
