Jill's original Samurai Edge (accurate to the RE3 1999 model) replacing the Glock 19. I built this model using parts from the RE2 Samurai Edges and the laser is from the JMB HP3. DOWNLOADI recommend using the UPDATED MOD MANAGER to install this mod. Drop the .rar file into your "Mods" folder then activate it in the program and you're ready to go! I'm also having issues with blocky meshes once I export as 3ds and reimport into 3ds max (so far is the biggest issue with this mod and the laser has black spots on it) so if someone could give me some pointers it would be greatly appreciated! I'm still very new to all of this.

Wow, this mod is great, thanks! Question since you got the upgrade working. I tried importing the Glock model from this game into RE2 and it seems that the upgrade is part of the model. How do you make it so the upgrade doesn't show up until after you obtain it. (I want to use the Glock 19 model from RE3 in RE2 but without the sight)
Also, any chance you could do a non-laser version for RE2 (fixing that incorrect model as someone else mentioned).

Excellent, thank you! Also, thanks for correcting Capcom's mistake since they didn't use the right model in RE2. Now we can use Jill's correct handgun and knife. Hopefully you'll port those mods to the final game once it's out.

Let's say that you're replacing the Matilda with the G19, you'd have to set the G19's red dot sight as one of the Matilda's attachments, for instance the extended magazine. That way the red dot would only appear after you obtained and attached the extended mag. I'm still new to importing weapons, so please excuse the awful explanation. As for porting this to RE2, I would love to, since RE2 used the Revelations 1 version of Jill's Samurai Edge, but I'd like to get the technique down before I attempted any more weapon ports. Hopefully someone here can offer some guidance.

Yeah, its always bugged me that Capcom used the Revelations 1 model for RE2, not to mention all of the other little mistakes they made with the Samurai Edges. Anyway, thanks for the kind words! Hopefully I get better at this so I can make these mods even better for retail!

I guess I will have to go a little deeper into the files. (I really just want to replace the crappy RE2 Glock model with the RE3 version minus the red dot.)

I don't use 3ds max, but when exporting the RE2 meshes to fbx for use on Blender the normals are messed up unless "Auto Smooth Normals" is enabled in Blender, but I don't know what that might be called in 3ds max.
Edit: Actually, when I imported your model to Blender it had a lot of duplicate vertices, after deleting them it's shaded correctly, but I don't know if they were there on purpose or not. Also, the normals were not entirely correct, but after using weighted normals they were fine, although I don't know if that's because of the original model, or the fbx export.

Well, just an update; It looks like the final version of the game fixed Jill's Samurai Edge with the correct model. Strange that they didn't use the correct one for RE2 but at least it's correct in Jill's game!

Awesome work, I love this mod! I've noticed a minor bug though, when the extended mag is added to the pistol the magazine in the gun becomes invisible, so it looks like the gun isn't loaded. The silencer is also invisible, but I actually prefer it that way LOL.

Does this actually put a laser in the game? Or just the attachment for aesthetic reasons? One thing I miss in the newer RE games is a stunning lack (or very slim use...one gun in RE2?) of laser sights.

Gonna give another go at modifying the shotgun sounds.

Have you considered updating this for the full game?
