Once again i need some guidance and wisdom from you guys because i really have a problem.
I'm at chapter 4-4 where Leon needs to cross a bridge and is pursued by the statue. The problem i have is no matter how fast i tap the button(i even tried the turbo to tap quickly) Leon is still killed by the first falling pillar. I've tried with 4 different gamepads and i even tried my luck with the keyboard+mouse and it's still the same. In case it could be relevant i'm playing the game at the fixed 30FPS.
Normally this part is piece of cake (in the normal version it is) but it's impossible to pass in the HD version. The game seems to change the button each time. For example, if i assign the button #4 to the weapon(which is the square for a ps gamepad) and the #1 to the knife(which is the triangle on a ps gamepad) in the QTE it's asking me to press #5 (which is the left trigger on the ps gamepad) and when i do so, it's a fail. if i press the weapon button, it's a fail and if i press the knife button, well you guessed it - it's a fail. I've tried to remap the gamepad, same for the keyboard/mouse, i even used a XBOX 360 gamepad and it's always a fail at the same spot where the first pillar is falling. There is no reason whatsoever for me to constantly fail there because in the normal version i passed this part fairly easily like everyone else.
So any idea about how i could pass that point?
EDIT : I finally got passed that part. In case someone else is having the same problem here what i did to be able to bypass the bug
1 - i disconnected all gamepads from my computer
2 - i configured the keyboard+mouse in a way it made it easier to manage the QTE with side-by-side keys
then i loaded my game and played with the keyboard only for that part. i died 2 times but it's better than not being able to get pass the first falling pillar don't you think
I also noticed the conversion is not complete in the controls department because a few times it asked my to "shake" with the wii button and icon instead of gamepad or keyboard button. This could be a bit confusing if someone is playing for the first time and isn't aware of what he/she should do. This also could explain why i wasn't able to pass the statue part with my gamepads but i was able to do it with my keyboard+mouse. Capcom probably forgot to script that scene correctly for the gamepad.
Anyway problem solved so i guess this one is closed.
