I've never played resident evil 4 before, it's always been one of those "i'll get to it eventually" deals. But i've had a lot of both friends and online personalities I watch recommending the game recently and it's finally given me the kick in the ass I needed to go through with actually buying the damn game. I initially planned to buy it for my Nintendo Switch, but then I saw that the price was basically DOUBLE all the other ports of this game and said: "mmm...No thank you!". OmegleSo my options are either the Wii version, which doesn't seem likely as I despise motion controls (what's wrong with a comfortable controller with simple to input buttons?), the PC/Steam version which I can play with a controller, but i'm not sure if my PC will be able to run it? (it's not bad specs holding me back, it's just space on my hard drive is an issue) Or PS3 which will have no issue running it, but I won't be able to mod the game (I'm assuming there is a resident evil 4 modding community right?) AppvalleyI thought: "who better to ask on which version I should purchase than an entire subreddit dedicated to this game?" So to make a long story short; what version should I get?

As far as I know you cannot purchase the 2007 version for PC… I looked everywhere online and could not find a way to purchase this legally.
That being said I did buy the UHD version which I am very happy with. It is much more mod friendly now because of the recent tools that have been released by Son of Persia.
Another fantastic reason to purchase the UHD version is because of the wonderful work Albert and Chris have done upgrading the textures which makes the game look a 1000 times better.
Also I will be releasing a remixed version of the game which includes 60 or more custom rooms of entirely new game play. This essentially means if you buy the UHD you're going to be getting access to a totally new game which includes many rooms from other resident evil titles
I created a thread on this section of the forums if you wish to look it up which contains a poll where I asked people which version they preferred… I don't believe the UHD version was the most popular on that poll however my opinion is still UHD is preferable.
Cheers

Oh one more thing about space… You will need at least 12 gigs of space for my game. I'm not sure what the HD project is running at but it also contains many high resolution textures… This is something you should research if you don't have any space. That being said hard drives are very cheap these days… You can incorporate that into the price of your game purchase

I bought the Ubisoft version off Amazon. It's completely legit with a CD key and everything.
But yeah, do what Mr. Curious suggested. He knows his stuff, and is a real good guy. He won't steer you wrong.
