I tried using the reshading files for my game and whenever I believe I got it to work, my game wont load, any ideas?

I tried using the reshading files for my game and whenever I believe I got it to work, my game wont load, any ideas? same, once reshade is installed, game won't load, quits on startup. I assumed it was due to latest re2 update? Annoying as I'm getting bord with the washed out colours and really like some of the reshades out there.
