Hello all
I was wondering if any of you experienced modders out could assist me with info on the .pfb.10 and .mdf2 files and how they effect the character models? I've been experimenting with swapping characters and its proving to be rather hit and miss.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and other times its works but the swapped character is deformed. I need ti figure out how to swap characters consistently before I start spending time on remodelling which will be pointless if I cannot get the basics right.
From what I understand from reading these boards is that the .pfb.10 are essentially a redirect telling the game to look somewhere else for the character model and textures?
Anyways any info you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

Bumping this, been self-teaching myself through trial and error to do various stuff like texture changes & model swaps, would be good to know this for when others ask the same question. [Edit] Came across Crazy Potato's Custom Lighting Tutorial here, the mdf2 files contain information for model lighting which you can modify with a hex editor.

At the moment I'm playing around with swapping characters around, without using a trainer / memory editing which breaks the cut scene's and usually results in a soft lock, crash or teleport s you out of map somewhere where you can't get back. This is where the .pfb files come in very handy, as they contain links that can redirect the game to use different files, models, characters, animations. working on a mod atm that swaps Leon for Claire and in testing completed a Leon A scenario S+ rank in just over an hour from start to finish inc all cut scene's with not a single crash or lockup. There's a whole bunch of npc characters in the game that can be made fully playable as well as enemy characters.
