I am hoping and waiting for the Zombies sounds those where terrifying! hope you can bring William and Lickers aswell
The new zombie sounds are annoying to me, those horrible Crazy screams and "barf" sounds are funny instead of scary

If it's possible, combine the best of zombie sounds from each classic RE game. There's some creepy sounds from OG RE1 in 1996. You can also find higher quality zombie sounds if you refer to REmake or RE0, I believe RE3 has the cheesiest zombie sounds, they sound so whiney and feeble, I think it was to make Nemesis stand out more.
RE1 1996 - creepy mansion zombie sounds
REmake & RE0 - high quality ghoul like zombie sounds. Especially Forrest from REmake!
RE2 - classic zombie sound, not too scary, but still RE2
RE3 - cheesy, because of making leeway for Nemesis
If possible, give William his classic signature screaming sound too. The RRRAAHHHHHRRR one! One last thing about the zombie sounds, is they will sound incomplete without their bloody footstep sounds. RE1-3 all the zombies had the same bloody foot step sounds, so you can experiment with those. In REmake & RE0 they updated it and made it different, so you could look at that and compare. I'm excited to see what you'll pull off!

Thanks for the positive feedback. johnny Valentine, I'm mostly satisfied with the remake z voice acting but you have a point here, they're pretty generic, except a few... yeah I'm considering adding others enemies as well. I just finished organizing the z files, preparing for replacements. extravagant, that's not a bad idea at all, there's clearly good materials in the other games too, but I'll focus on re2 classic for now, considering the amount of work already needed just to deliver a "true 98 experience". I'll see, maybe later on that could become an alternative. biohazardgamer, no, sorry, but I think it could be part of the tofu zombi mod, I for sure can share all I know with Snipz if that's an update he considered adding to his mod. shinn, when it's done :3

I have little qualms with the current zombie sounds they do sound absolutely generic Walking Dead/Dawn of the Dead/28 Days Later type zombies to me where all the sounds they make are just screeching. At some points throughout out the game you can tell they have really loud screeches just for jumpscaring players. It gets repetitive after a while.
I would love a completion of your zombie sound mod that replaces their sounds with the more eerie and toned down (but just as scary if not more) moaning and groaning from classic RE games. If this mod comes out I am never turning it off lol
Totally a must-have mod!

Quick update here. I'm progressing at really slow pace, sorry for that.
I have one bad new, I'll have to put on hold the Atheist mod as I can't figure out how to repack pck files. Otherwise it's 99.9% done. The dialogues pck files from the streaming folder do not work like the music pck for some odd reason.
Concerning 98 zombies, I must say I was too confident and enthusiast at first. Now, while doing all the job figuring out which sound is which zombie, I'm facing a possibly big issue where I just can't do it that easy and will do mistakes.
So either 1 - I give up on that and deliver a poor made audio mod with random sounds (which is not what was intended), or 2 - it's going to take "forever", or 3 - I can gather the help of a "team" focusing on that purpose to deliver the proper experience, aka, zombies keep the same voice with their respective hits, roaming and attack sounds. The other problem is that I still didn't figure out how to batch repack those bnk, and while the bnk files of the atheist mod consisted of ~100 files to manually replace one by one (it was certainly tedious, but mostly "ok" - 1 hour job) the Zombies on the other hand consists of 867 files. I'm not looking forward doing that manually. When I'll reach that point I may look into macros & repetitive task softwares. With a little bit of smart folders setup that might work.

Given the number of files to sort, I ran all the "other zombie sounds" to a spectrum analysis, then ran the result spectrums to an image analysing software to sort those by similarities given a threshold. While it helped out for 93 files out of 321. That's still 228 files I'm having a hard time to sort.
Footsteps and crawling sounds are identified.
Not yet looked into Birkin / lickers.
