RE2 is a very violent game so I made a mod which makes it less violent: www.tzarsectus.com/mods/RE2/by-fluffyquack/Reduced%20Violence.rarThis is created by using assets from the Cero D Japanese version, which is heavily censored. So this mod has the following changes and more: - No dismemberment.
- Less blood.
- No exploding heads.
- Elliot doesn't lose his legs.
- Less gore overall.
I know there's one very small flaw in the mod where the game ends up using the wrong animation during the optional cutscene where you investigate the cop killed by a licker, but otherwise, this mod should make the experience the same as playing the Japanese release. Note that some scenes are still very brutal and only barely censored (like the scene with Ben). Video example:

So kids can play it too? Sounds like waste of time, but that's just my opinion.

Great work, I'll probably always use it just because it's different lol. Is this one any different from the Censored Violence.rar version you put up in the Discord server?

Does this improve performance at all?

Does this improve performance at all? I assume performance is the same. I guess maybe the game might run ever so slightly faster as these zombie models are less detailed.

This might be a dumb thing to ask, but is there any way to possibly reduce it even more per se..? (What I was hoping for was basically either NO blood at all, or just entirely have it "re-colored" to censor it or something of the sort? This isn't for me actually, but for a friend who might try the game if the reduced violence is good enough. They only feel that way due to having hemophobia, and the sight of blood naturally screws with them a lot. Although it's weird, blood being a different color helps too, so I apologize overall for this request, but I didn't know what else to try..) EDIT: Literally the only real change that'd be needed is the blood being some different color other than well, blood/red. Regardless of how this goes, good job on this.
I think it would be very difficult to find every instance of a blood texture. This mod does make some of the blood look rather black, but it still looks bright red in some spots.

Not to be rude, but who wants this?

I would like that. I'm not a gorehound but I like violent games and movies. A game (or movie) doesn't have to be violent to be good, it depends on the characters, the atmosphere, the setting and so on. Violence on Mortal Kombat level in RE would be way too much but I'd love to see the gore system from the early RE2make demo, where you could shoot large chunks of flesh off a zombie. I still remember one of the first videos where a zombie got half of his head blown away by a shotgun blast and would still attack.

Cool mod. Good job. Its not for me but, I can understand why somebody would want this. The game is quite disturbing & not for the faint of heart. Without dismemberment & (head shot style) gore it's a little less nauseating.

Patching up a lot of bite wounds rn, I think we are running out of pain killers.

Though I dislike any sort of censorship and I will not be making use of this, I know someone will and that's reason enough for me to appreciate this mod's existence

I like it! Elliot losing his legs in the beginning after such a short time being attacked is retar*ed And when the heads pop it's the same 2 things - it goes off completely or has tear in the middle.. Zombie blood is coagulated, so that means it doesn't spray as much as you see Though could you make a version WITH dismemberment, that's the only thing that really makes sense, or is it impossible?
