Modding these animations is very "fiddly" trying to switch the wrong animation will result in the whole gun using knife animations for aiming and swining when shooting. this also means the gun can no longer be reloaded. I tried making the Quickdraw use the SLS animations. while it "worked" it meant that reloading it took 2-3 full reloads because a lot of these things are tied directly into the animation and for whatever reason this caused the quickdraw to not be fully reloaded.

Like I said the aiming worked, but the reload on the quickdraw is already annoying and slow as is. needing to reload it 2-3 times didn't make it any better. it took me a while to find where these files were. after finding them it was super easy. just replacing a single number by opening the file in a hex editor allowed me to swap animations. but it's a lot of trial and error to see what can/can't be swapped. very ofte you end up with a gun using knife animations, which seems to have been Capcom's failsafe go-to in case animations don't work/load or something (like a default state)?

hm ideally more official mod support from Capcom would be good, it's a thing some companies do and makes it much easier for the fans.

Awesome work!
I was informed the aiming style was a nudge to his Mafia RE4 costume, but I don't get why Capcom didn't leave that to the Noir costume more appropriately. Leon was a trained cop not a wannabe Al Capone from a ghetto?! Its not to his RE4 costume, its because in the original RE2 his alternate outfits would aim gangsta style and shoot very quickly

Interestingly enough (i'm surprised no one else has noticed this) because of the flip in rotation of the gun, the recoil now goes off to the left instead of straight up lol, not sure if this can be fixed, but it's a minor inconvenience either way

Does this work? The mod manager shows it as being installed, but the old animations remains : /

Does this work? The mod manager shows it as being installed, but the old animations remains : / check if the folders are correct. it's supposed to be like this: modmanager\Games\RE2R\Mods\M19 no gangsta\natives\ (and then the rest of the folders in there)

Nevermind figured it out...didn't realize there needed to be a folder containing natives for it to register.
