There should always be one mod in the list since it comes with the mod manager. Did you extract all of the files from modmanager.rar? Did you select "Resident Evil 2 remake" as game in the mod manager? Yes, I did both of those. I'm also running it as admin. I added another mod supposedly also made for this mod manager, and it won't show up either. There are no custom PAK files on my game folder either. If you extract the RAR files with the mods, do they show up in the mod manager then? Third times a charm maybe? help? Does this still happen with the latest version? Are you running it as admin? If you go to where the mod manager is installed do you see a "installed.ini.new" file there?

''Could not load installed.ini.new for writing during ModManager_InstallMod'' / Help pls Third times a charm maybe? help? I'm getting more baffled why this would ever happen as the code related to this is very simple. Where do you guys have mod manager installed? Does "re-read game archives" work or does that result in a message saying it could not open a file for writing?

also when I reinstalled my mods using the tool, the costumes reappeared. I don't know what to do here It sounds like you're trying to install mods with the manager that were made to be installed manually. Those are packaged with a blank .pak file which will mess things up. You can check inside the mod and see if there's a folder with a bunch of numbers (i.e 920564) and a re_dlc_000.pak inside. It will be in the same place as the native folder. If there is, you can delete that folder from the mod and then you can use the manager. You'll probably need to reinstall whatever dlc you modified if you didn't make a backup because they've been overwritten now.

This sounds like mods which affect the DLC files (they probably contain the 0-byte PAK files which engemoui mentioned), but my mod manager is never supposed to overwrite or delete the DLC PAK files. Are you using the latest version of the mod manager? I made a big update to it a few days ago. You can do these steps: - Update to latest mod manager if you haven't already. - Uninstall all mods via mod manager. - Verify file integrity for the game in Steam. - Click on "re-read game archives" in the mod manager and then try to install and uninstall those mods.

But like, real talk, are they running it on the game.exe or on a crack of the game for a pirated version? I imagine this affects something, because my friend has the same problem and he's definitely running an illegal copy whereas my steam copy runs it fine.

Okay, so I tried to do the the steps above. it worked with sherrif and the noir for claire, but doesn't work with elza walker skin. welp reinstall it is then. thanks for helping out fluff
