Did anyone else get disappointed in the lack of variety between the Scenarios and the inconsistencies of the story?
This is something I've been thinking of for a few days. How the fans and modders could "FIX" the game and add more replay value.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
Let me talk about the problems in the story:
How is it that Leon and Claire never meet up in the game? How is it that they are fighting the same bosses? How is it that Annette dies multiple times? How does the Mr. X die from William Berkin and turn up in the lab in Leon's story? How is Ada and Sherry get trapped together in the same area and not mention each other? How does Leon or Claire have to solve the same puzzles and require a key to open the same doors in the 2nd run if unlocked in the 1st? Are there two helicopters at the RPD Station?
So many inconsistencies it makes no sense!!! Why would Capcom do this? The original game made sense.
Here is how I would change to the game (Basically changing the whole game):
Taking Ideas from the original game and thinking how it could be modified. Also My own.
1st run: No Mr. X
No Mr. X for both Leon and Claire.
Have the helicopter remain in the way and on fire. Do not have the ladder break in Leon's.
For Leon put more Ivy's in the Lab like in Claire's instead of Mr. X.
You could have Berkin chase you around if you want.
2nd run: Mr. X
Mr. X for both Leon and Claire.
Extinguish the helicopter. Do have the ladder break in Claire's.
Have Mr. X show up in the sewers. He might get stuck though.
Have Mr. X show up in the lab on Claire's instead of extra Ivy's.
Also have the Suit doors open. Leon only need to find the club key and Claire only needs to find the heart key. For the room with the Jack handle Bar the door with a moveable shelf or cabinet.
Boss Fights Rundown:
A temporary fix. you would have to skip the boss cutscenes to make sense. Maybe have a line of code to skip it automatically.
1st Run Bosses:
1) G1 - G3 Bosses: Keep the same.
2) G4 Boss Claire: Keep the same.
3) G4 Boss Leon: Leon finds Sherry at the train and fights G4 Berkin.
2nd Run Bosses:
1)G1 Berkin fight: Mr.X in the pit. Must knock him down a certain number of times or add a health percentage like G1 Berkin.
2)G2 Berkin fight: Hit Mr. X or super tyrant into the pit with the crane.
3)G3 Berkin fight: I guess you can keep it the same or not happen at all.
4)Super Tyrant Boss fight Leon: Keep the same.
4)Super Tyrant Boss fight Claire: Claire checks the room where sherry is and finds Mr. X hovering over Annette's body. Gets chased by Mr. X and fall through the platform like leon.

Environments
How could we make the 2nd/ B scenarios even more different? I would add a new sewers and lab environment exclusive to the 2nd scenario. I would leave the 1st scenario alone.
I think we could use the developer made assets to create new environments.
Sewers
We could keep the Waste chamber the same so the cutscenes work. Just everything around it should be changed. New tunnels and new puzzle to change it. You could keep it the same and just scatter the pieces around the rooms. Also make the chess pieces black since A will keep the white pieces.
Lab
This we could keep the big area with the elevator looking the same we would just connect to the west wing so you could grab the cure/ virus. The puzzles don't need to be changed. The boss location can be similar or the same.
The play area does not really need to be changed. you could even mirror the original environment. It's just the sewers I really want changed.
Police Station, basement, 1st boss arena.
The only thing I would consider changing is a different puzzle to access the new sewers location. Have the original route blocked off by a broken elevator or something blocking the entrance.
The first boss arena for B would be ok looking similar just not in a second route that needs a new puzzle to access.

This is just an idea of mine I thought up and would make the game better and more logical in my opinion.
So how could this be done? Honestly I do not know how. If Capcom gave us modding tools to the game. A software development kit for the Resident Evil engine. Would Capcom release one? Maybe it is possible without one. With a SDK we could make our own fan made campaigns which would be awesome.
I may add on to this later. I might draw some plans of my ideas for the new areas. Please share your thoughts.
