I like it. I've only finished Leon A so far. There's a distinct lack of communication between Leon and Claire. The RPD and sewers look great. They're both very faithful to the original feel and atmosphere. I was somewhat disappointed in the lab though. I was really looking forward to seeing the gritty industrial aesthetic from the original realised in full 3D in 2019...unfortunately I really don't think they managed to capture the spirit and atmosphere of the original in that section. It's too clean and clinical. The iconic train elevator is just gone without even so much as a nod to it. I guess it's more realistic for a lab but...well...I wanted to see the lab get the same kind of treatment as the RPD and sewers, where the look and feel is the same even if the layout is different. Instead it got totally overhauled. Also poses some interesting questions for Zero, with RE2make being canon the Umbrella factory and lab you briefly visit in it effectively no longer exists.

all finished since wednesday very bored game, missing cinematic, contents, skins, modes, etc etc... and paly claire or leon its the same -_- game very short, a player finish the game in 1h15h me i finish the second time in 2h17 ^^' so i hope bh 3 must better remake.
i love ADA since always forever
i buy this game for her and bh2 its the bh i like the least (bh 7 is not a bh for me...)
This sounds an awful lot like the original IGN review where the guy said he remembered binging RE2 in his college dorm, and then said that he was annoyed at how Leon and Claire's scenarios were basically exactly the same, never even touching the 2nd Run versions, and likely somehow actually missing the giant, window-filling prompt that encourages players to try 2nd Run. Also, this game currently has all of the modes that were in the original game, as well as giving you four new Tofu characters with different inventories, forcing you to play each one differently. Not only that, but there's going to be three non-canon side-stories featuring Robert Kendo, Katherine Warren, and a member of USS Alpha Squad other than Hunk. Leon A, Claire A, Leon B, Claire B, The 4th Survivor, The Tofu Survivor with 5 different characters, and 3 characters in The Ghost Survivors. If you find there's a lack of content, you're probably using a trainer for invincibility and infinite ammo or something, blitzing through everything to get to the end credits, removing the challenge, and denying yourself the experience, too afraid to fail. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a Resident Evil game over screen, I could buy groceries for a month. If you really think there's a lack of content, you've probably never played a Resident Evil game. There's a LOT of content in this game.

Wait you can't actually be serious man. Resident Evil and Biohazard is the exact same game, there is only a title change depending on the region. This post of yours literally baffled me so much I actually bothered to sign in here for the first time in a long time. (Also there is indeed plenty of content in this game, and your complaining people beat it quickly despite the fact that Resident Evil has always been a speed run type game, it's not a bloody RPG or Skyrim it's not going to take weeks to complete)

Biohazard is called Resident Evil everywhere outside of Japan. When it first made its debut outside of Japan, the name was changed to avoid potential issues with an American rock band at the time called Biohazard, and so it was changed to Resident Evil. After succeeding in the US, the game was released everywhere else, using the international title Resident Evil. And beyond one time where the highest attainable rank was an A instead of an S, there have been no mechanical differences between versions of the games, save for RE4 which censors decapitation by cutting to black. Anyway, as was already mentioned by someone faster on the draw than I was, RE games have ALWAYS been about speedrunning. The goal of these games has been to play them over and over again until you know what's coming, how to react to it, how to solve the puzzles, and get your time down as low as possible, taking as few hits as possible- ideally none- never saving, never needing to heal, and otherwise being as fast and efficient as possible. Some of my fastest times have been toeing the space between two and three hours, but there are people out there who've trimmed the whole experience down to as little as one hour. They have mastered these games inside and out. Call it Biohazard, call it Resident Evil; they're the same thing, and you just don't know how to play these games. I've got about 17 hours logged, and I've cleared the game probably close to about six times already. These aren't long games once you know what you're doing, especially if you look up the solutions online which most people do these days.

Just adding to what the OP said. I know Ada's cover backstory was changed drastically but i still wanted this scene.
Hated that Leon and Claire have like one interaction after their initial separation. Claire, Leon and Ada using the same/similar lines i.e "Don't worry about me save yourself" Felt so stupid. In the original C+L were all about finding any survivors and leaving together.
Wanted to have an interaction with Irons where he acts all sweet and upset about the Mayor's daughter but he's just a deranged maniac from the get go.
G was not scary at all. All of his boss fights felt empty.
Dialogue seems really bad some times.

It's looks more like action adventure game than survival horror If anything, the original was more of an action adventure game given the ludicrous amounts of ammo that were given to you.

I have to agree. First playthrough of this remake, I constantly struggled to keep even a single full magazine in my pistol. Seeing more than a single enemy was VERY disheartening, making me wonder if this was where I bit the big one, or rather, more accurately, if this was where the big one was going to bite me.

It wasn't until the sewers where I started having excess ammo to spare, and that was with me wasting ammo to cripple every enemy rather than kill.

I feel like the original had a bit more of things fleshed out, plot, characters, and overall exploration in different areas of Raccoon City. I like RE2:Remake alot but it feels like its smaller scale level wise somehow compared to what I played from the original and for that I am slightly disappointed. However I do think the gameplay is a step in the right direction compared to RE7. Although I feel like a more thorough stealth system for all enemies and Mr. X might've been a nice feature.
I would be greatly excited if they made an Outbreak game in this manner as I was feeling nostalgic for both RE2 and Outbreak while playing RE2:Remake.

I've never understood why so many people are having issues with the game being too dark. I keep my brightness settings at slightly below medium because if they get to medium or higher, it becomes intolerably bright for me.

I personally loved it. I've beaten every single scenario and can't wait for the new mode coming out on Feb 15th. Only thing I dislike about this remake is how overused Mr X is.

I would be greatly excited if they made an Outbreak game in this manner as I was feeling nostalgic for both RE2 and Outbreak while playing RE2:Remake. This is what I'm feeling exactly. I don't like the fact zombies are taking excess bullets to the head, most the time it's 8-12 shots to the head before they either fall to the ground and resurrect or die permanently. I think it's not *balanced* properly. Standard mode zombie's health is what I'd expect from hardcore mode (with a bit less chance of headshot/critical or more consistent zombie health instead of making bunch of zombies have many health points whereas minor group has less health than others - I don't know if I'm not the only one who's picking on this). Also the main big no no in my opinion is that when you're grabbed by a zombie and you don't have any defensive items, you're practically screwed and HAVE to get bitten, you can't wiggle/shake them off from you, now I haven't played the original but have watched the whole original gameplay. Assisted is very easy, Standard is tough-ish (still managed to get S+), Hardcore is anxiety rising mode that you need to prepare yourself to die a lot or continuously. I didn't find Mr X hard to deal with at all, I just find him annoying as he tends to be in rooms where I need to go or he be in a room where I need to do for example a puzzle (take library for example). I actually liked Mr X, he made the game more tense with him around, stomping around to see where I am. He kinda made me think of what Nemesis would be like. *Goes into safe room* - *Mr X walks away* - RE2:R *Goes into safe room* - *Nemesis is aiming at the door with his rocket launcher - yelling S.T.A.R.S* - RE3:R I really loved the level designing and the graphics especially when you go outside in the rain. (Although I find TAA+FXAA to be hiding the clarity of the game).
