I've been playing RE5 MERCS again, but let me preface this by saying I am *NOT* referring to the Reunion version of Mercs....I am playing the *NORMAL* version of MERCS in RE5 Gold for PC. Now I'm not 100% sure, but this version of "normal" Mercs seems more unforgiving than the version that was originally released(The non-Gold version). The timer especially seems to go by faster than in the original, and this is what I'd like confirmation on. Does the Combo timer run out faster in the Gold version of "normal" Mercs than the original version, or is it just me and the two mini-games play exactly the same?

Far as I know they are the same. However if you have played Re6 mercs recently it gets you spoiled with a muchlonger combo timer that Re5 has. It takes some adjusting going back to Re5 combo timer.

Thanks Wizard. I didn't play RE6 Mercs, but what I *DID* do, was take a long haitus from all RE games over the past 2 to 3 years. I guess when you leave RE5 MERCS alone for so long, and then come back to it, it humbles you and reminds you of just how brutal it can be and how difficult it is keeping the combo going. A stark reminder of how small the combo timer really is in this one. And this is only in Public Assembly. I can't even imagine the frustration I'm in for once I move on to the remaining stages. Good ole' RE5 Mercenaries....still fun but still challenging as hell. Oh well, it's comforting to know I was good once. Now I suck ass LOL.
