I finished RE Remastered HD yesterday with Jill. I conducted a series of tests with zombies and obtained the following results. I thought it would be handy for the newbies to know a little more about how damage is dealt to the enemies and what tricks you can perform to conserve resources. Part of this information was learned through field studies and a little was taken from Bio Hazard Kataishinsho. The tests were performed on Easy setting. Please, point out any mistakes I have made if you spot them.
ZOMBIE
If a zombie survives a self defense knife stab to the head, you can retrieve the blade if you blow its head off with a shotgun or a critical shot from a handgun. The knife will drop to the floor and can be picked up and be used again indefinetely. Note, the game doesn't allow for post mortem decapitations and you can't get the knife back if the head of the zombie is still intact when you kill it.
A zombie will stop in place and lowers its arms after being shot a number of times.
The health of a zombie doesn't change according to difficulty level, nor does the damage inflicted upon them. Their health range is 300-2600 and handguns inflict 200 damage per shot.
Range for the handguns and grenade launcher doesn't change the damage values. The shotgun has three different ranges, close, medium and far.
Zombies collapse to the ground after a large amount of their health is depleted. One zombie took 11 handgun bullets before dropping and then got up again. 2 more handgun bullets were required to kill it. That means that when the zombie's health reached 400, the game code instructed the zombie to fall. Zombies with 300 HP never drop before they loose all their health.
I will continue to update this guide soon.
In the meantime, Does anyone wish to add any more input?
Update:
ZOMBIE DOGS can be decapitated by shotgun.
CRIMSON HEADS can be decapitated by shotgun.
CHANGES IN HIGHER DIFFICULTY LEVELS: More enemies appear.
