Updated 17 Nov 2015--*.CTC files for head swaps!
_____Below, you'll find my hastily scribbled lab-notes on how to swap models in
RE Revelations 2! I tried, tried, TRIED to make it REALLY simple. But with
this game, model swapping ain't as easy as it was in RE4. Note, this is a
SIMPLIFIED VERSION of what Yoichi posted about swapping in Revelations 1.
If you can swap in Revelations 1, you can do the same for 2. Again, this is
SIMPLIFIED. The pros can give you better details than I can. Think of it
as a brain transplant: transferring the donor brain files from one sucker into the
recipient body of another. (Gosh knows Taylor Swift could use a transplant herself,
the one already in her head ain't quite firing on all transistors, if ya know what
I mean.)
-->BASICALLY, *.MRL and *.MOD files tell the game what model and assets to use.
So, after copying all assets, do this. Rename those two files to match the ones in the recipient
file, then COPY the renamed files into where they are located in the corresponding
DONOR folders, you can trick the game into using the new folder...
--Do the same for *.lmt if model parts seem off or not positioned correctly. Needs testing,
though!
BASICALLY, MRL and MOD files tell the game what weapon to use. *.LMT files are for animation. *.CTC are for head animations?
1--Unpack both the donor and recipient ARC files.
2--Copy all assets from the donor folders into the recipient folders.
--Copy and rename *mrl, *.mod, and *.ctc (ctc for headswaps) files in the donor folders to match
the corresponding *.mrl, *.mod, and *.ctc files in the recipient's folders.
--Now, locate the *.mrl, *.mod, and *.ctc files in the recipient's folders.
Move the renamed *.mrl, mod, and *.ctc files into the correct location of the
recipient's original *.mrl, *.mod, and *.ctc files.
3--Critical--Mod the packing list.
Copy the contents of the donor *.arc.txt intoto the recipient *.arc.txt
Open pl1010.arc.txt file, copy it's content and paste it below text in pl1310.arc.txt file saving changes to the other file one done.
