Yes. Well, I want to do some voice replacements with L4D1 voices, and I've got everything but the program to open up those files to extract the files, and it seems it was once posted here (Yes, I checked, not going to revive such an old thread) but I'd like to ask for someone to put it up again, this is literally the only program that there is to open .spc files from Capcom and it's just gone right now.
I tried opening them raw in Audacity and the voices are there, but very very distorted, haven't tried all the options but I guess the overall quality would be lo-fi.
Also found an apparently old version called "RESPCTOOL" but it is useless with RE6, it extracts the audio but it is just... almost white noise. And the others "spc" tools are for SNES sound files and I guess they aren't the same although they share the same name.
So, please, if someone is willing to share the tool, please do.

That tool did get updated, but the person who made had all traces of it removed from the forums for some reason or another. Which is unfortunate because I've really been wanting to extract audio from 6 and Rev2.

"That person" was Mr Nightmare. there were good reasons why he was banned. he was not welcome to come back after it. so he removed all his tools, mods and other stuff and shares them only with people he likes and trusts, not to be shared. so don't expect his .spc and other tools here. aside from that i'm fairly certain no-one else on this forums is looking into that stuff...

Oh come on. I won't get into why he was banned or whatever, but at least someone should have saved it, right? It's not like its forbidden because he made it. There must be, I mean, this .spc files are used in many RE games; so weird no one before made a mirror to download it. If so, then I'm screwed. I guess importing the sounds right now is impossible.

I am looking into that stuff too. I try to record Voices direct from the game but some quotes aren't possible to record without other noises. It would be really great to extract and repack this files.

Doesn't quite work with RE6. I don't know about RE5, because I don't have it for PC. Welp. That's that I guess. Thanks.

Oh so it doesn't work with RE5, either?
Well, that's too bad to be honest.... I guess trying on a loopback with Audacity and going to a quiet area and record the sounds; I don't know. I find it so wierd that no one just uploaded the new version somewhere else, it seems it had many people who liked the tool. Too bad maybe all of the just deleted it or something...

Hi folks! This is Gh0stBlade who was once known as Mr.Nightmare™. Mr.Nightmare™ is gone and as you many of you know Mr.Nightmare™ is no longer part of this Resident Evil Modding Community. This does not mean that I currently don't mod the game. I'm mostly busy with some things I can't really detail and work on various other projects. I will clarify some things for people who are not fully aware to avoid confusion as it has come to my attention that another thread like this has emerged with incorrect information being tooted about the Resident Evil .SPC tool I developed several years ago. To clarify, the ONLY purpose of the tool is to EXTRACT sound effects REPACK and CONVERT if it is supported. These EXTRACTED sound effects will be only compatible with the ENGINE unless they are CONVERTED. I believe that the Xbox 360 sounds may have had conversion by calling an external batch file to convert the .XMA files to .WAV. So for those complaining about how the tool is extracting broken sound effects you are WRONG. These files are perfectly compatible with the Resident Evil 5 or 6 engine. Go ahead and extract and repack those sounds, you will clearly see that they play perfectly fine so it is not an error with the tool. The tool in question is very old and has since been entirely re-written to support brand new features including conversion of Resident Evil 5 sound effects to .WAV and back granting the ability to import brand new sound effects. This however was never fully completed and things are STILL early which means it MUST be reviewed/tested. I have not touched the tool code in over a year now and as I'm busy I doubt that will change. Some of the reasons why I felt the tool should be removed was as being no longer part of the community (I chose and had no interest to participate in it anymore) it would save all the problems in terms of people wanting to know how to utilise it. The information thus would not be available and would cause too much confusion. Along with this, the tool was posted on the new forums (and has since been fully resolved). I was tired of getting messages from close friends notifying me distribution was happening as really it should have been me. As a result I came back and then explained that they should be removed (i think). I completely accept my banishment from the forums and have no means to come back here since there is no reason to. I wish you all the best of luck, you may do whatever you wish with those tools so feel free to share them. I regret having to have asked for removal in the first place! Do what you do best, MODDING! Best Regards ~Gh0stBlade

This makes it as if you copied it from another forum; anyways, thanks for the clarifications.
Basically, the tool does work but you can't add or extract the sounds because they appear 'broken' but to the game engine it's okay? Alright, well, that's something but I needed the other thing that doesn't work. Is there something I could do, like... use the batch file to convert it? or what? They do pop up as .wav anyways.
Too bad I'm just starting to code. Oh well, using loopback recording it is, I guess.

Nice try but very wrong. Mister Nightmare is a steam friend and he asked me for clarifications about this topic. So he wrote this letter and I posted it.

I'm confused...with the tool that was uploaded by JTeghius Kittius....can it change the sounds of the guns or do they get broken by using the tool?
Edit: I tried the tool with Resident Evil 5 and it worked but I only Replaced the Beretta sound with the Sig...if anyone knows how to change them to completely different sounds that aren't in Resident Evil 5 then please tell me...but I'm very happy that I got to change that Beretta sound=) thank you JTeghius Kittius for uploading the tool and thank you Gh0stBlade for making it
