Currently in the process of making this mod a reality, unfortunately at the moment there doesn't seem to any tools that can allow me to replace the music tracks. Oh absolutely, I just wish you could actually modify the audio files even when extracting the PAK files. I just that yesterday and couldn't find anything of note that included Mr X's theme.

Maybe replacing the files is impossible, but would something like this work? www.tapatalk.com/groups/infernalworks/custom-bgm-player-t2336.htmlWhere you have a program read what/when music is supposed to be playing and plays a song? (Presumably, you'd have in-game music set to 0.) I know nothing about coding or whatever, but the problem reminded me of this solution.

Someone definitely needs to figure out how to customize the music in this game. I want to add a classic "remixed" soundtrack to the game to replace the "original" RE2 music

If this tool ever comes out, I'd be really interested in a few improvements on the actual game : 1 - getting back the good old "Resident Evil 2" Menu announcer. 2 - replacing the techie MrX music by something more "classic". 3 - totally remove leon's radio music from the intro, it's silly and badly implemented IMO. 4 - replacing some themes with classic ost.
+ Edit : 5 - removing both characters moanings and groanings. 6 - replacing the few "jesus" & "jesus christ" lines by any other sweares.

1 - getting back the good old "Resident Evil 2" Menu announcer. I was watching some Eastern folk stream speedruns, and when one quit and restarted the playthrough the launch screen had that exact announcement, in English! No idea why it's been removed or disabled for Western versions but the soundfile definitely exists somewhere for this remake.
