Hello, I am making a multiplayer mod for RE4 that will sync up a remote computer with an AI on the local computer. It is in very early stages , but progress is coming along nicely. As of now only basic movement is synced. Tune in for beta builds, as I will very much be needing testers when the time comes.
UPDATE: Enemy and ally health sync and position sync now work in any given room (usually), see video for details!
UPDATE: Area sync is working and the game is kinda playable for solid chunks of the game(full game not tested yet, testing this weekend)! Here is a video of the latest progress. Note sometimes you get stuck on terrain and enemy sync breaks if you move furniture to block openings. Once I get the mod into a state you can play a majority of the game without stopping, I'll release a very very barebones beta. Thank you all for the support!

It MAY be very minimal? But this is STILL REALLY amazing! What is planned for the mod in the future? You mentioned in the description that the second player would probably change from Ashley? But the thing is, will the character be configurable and such? Like how's it all going to work? I REALLY can't wait for more on this!

For the future i dont see why not. that would be a good feature as currenty no matter what side you are on, you are leon, and your friend is ashley. next step is syncing enemy movement ( currently pretty jittery ) and then syncing health for everyone.

Yes, that is on the roadmap, I have a plan to do it its just other things are priority of course.

You've got your work cut out for you. Very ambitious. I am naturally curious how you will work out key game functions:
How will the game engine handle AEV triggers? How will CAM files be triggered if players are in different triggerzones? How will enemies behave when there are separate targets for RTP data? How will you be able to assign LIT functions to septate characters? How will max distance model behaviour work with separate players? How will EAR and SAR TRIGGERZONES be handled with 2 players

You see this game was not designed for 2 players. I think you need to understand how the key functions of the game work before you attempt this.

Oh this is really amazing. I wouldn't mind being a beta tester. I just read it needs to local computers though? This would be awesome for Mercs if it ever reaches that point. Krauser and Wesker duo would be pretty awesome.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'M SO HAPPY AND IT'S SEEMS LIKE IT'S PROGRESSING QUITE FAST!
EDIT: This video also brings up some new questions.
First of all? I was hoping to see how the game looks from both players, and so far, the player that isn't you is automatically Ashley right now it seems. With this in mind, my first question is,
Will the other character eventually be "Synced", so that if you're for example, Leon, and your friend is Ada, will we eventually see them as Ada? And not just Ashley?
Secondly, seeing as Animations will be synced eventually, I won't question that, but instead, will the 2nd player's name always be stuck as Ashley? Or is there any chance you could potentially, with some design/graphical help maybe? Setup custom images the game will load for the nameplate part for Ashley, and that can just change based on the character? I don't know if it's too complex, or hell, asking for too much? But the little details like these if possible, I like to see, but I'm also not so much a chooser, as I am a beggar for this mod, so nothing can really bother me about this. ^^
