ok..So figured out how to extract weapons and items using the 3ds Max script by Codeman, (using settings below) but I need more help with the textures... one problem I am having is that the textures are not mapped correctly to the model. Is there a way to preserve the material mappings (UVW mappings)? there seems to be some .txt files with texture info: TEX Texversion=RE6 Textype=31 Width=256 Height=256 Mips=8 Uint1=536879261 Byte1=1 Byte2=1 Byte3=0 DDSFormat=DXT5So what I am wondering now is... how do i get these to texture mappings to be applied when i'm importing? It looks like this has been asked before by others, but IM not sure what the solution is because when I drag & drop the DDS files onto the layers they are still mapped incorrectly.

Thanks for this, but the same problem exists with the script as well. There is simply no preservation of texture mappings (or any texture options at all). I presume since these tools have been around a long time that people were successful at some point in being able to import models in 3ds Max with the texture mappings preserved. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know =) I couldnt find any information in this forum about how to do this

you must be doing something wrong, what arcs and models are you having issues with? could you describe exactly what you´re doing in 3Ds Max right after importing your models?

Thanks for reply. After importing models there's no textures applied to the models.
Are the models the supposed to have textures mapped to them right after import ?
Im importing the .mod files from the Weapon and Item folders (\nativePC\arc\wep) Using the ARC TOOL. It creates dds files.

you don't have to wait for the script to import the textures, you can simply drag and drop the texture over the mesh, or use a basic tutorial from youtube to get a texture import via material editor.

Thanks for your help man. Like I said in the original post, drag and drop yields nothing. The texture mappings are simply not present. I'm pretty knowledgable of how to use material editor In 3ds Max so this confuses me. Could you show me what your uvw mappings look like with UVW modifier looks like ? Or maybe you could make a shirt video of the process you are doing ? I simply can't understand why this is t working. If you can't make a video I could make one to show you what I'm doing.
