I'm not sure if anyone else here used to use residentevil.net, but I've just checked and their forums seem to be completely gone and replaced with one or two boards of just general series discussion. Moreover, it also seems like Capcom is scrubbing all evidence of games that aren't RE4/RE5/RE6/Rev1-2/RE7/REmake from their website, as if they're ashamed of their older titles? I understand that nobody from Capcom 10-20 years ago are still around, and that the new staffies are trying to revitalize the series and make it fresh, but it feels like older-generation fans are being left behind and forgotten about. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places in their website? I don't know, it seems wrong to totally scrap years and years of forum history and make it seem to newer audiences like the other games never happened..

The RE.net, were using a mirror of the Capcom Unity forums, (you still can find them here: www.capcom-unity.com/resident_evil/go/forum/viewcategory/7391/general-forums) However you will see that it is almost dead for months, so actually RE.net doesn´t loose a lot. O_ò I think the RE.net forum was not capable to increase the RE forum active community, so maybe they just erase it to research a new ways and ideas? I don´t think it were any plan against the fans of the franchise, (the lack of pre-RE4 forums, is because the Capcom Unity forum was created around the RE4 date) maybe the erase of the forums in RE.net could be more a way to move community into the social networks (facebook and twitter). Time will say...

That's for certain not the same forum board as the one that was on residentevil.net for years, and they had several sections for each game in the series, not just post-RE4 games, but I suppose it is what it is. I know they're trying to do things in newer ways, just seems like they unintentionally neglected/forgot to include the older stuff of the series into what they've made now. I guess I'm just too stuck on the older ways of things idk.

But with so many games, I don´t know till what point it´s better separate or join? There are forums with areas for each RE game, but with the time, new games comes, and people moves to talk about modern news. Forums of old games (RE4, or RE1 if there were), would have fewer activity (so people would visit it with less frecuency, what would make it have even less activity). I think it´s better make the classification around the purpose instead of the game itself. (A general area, another area to talk about speedruns, tricks, achivements, etc... and an area to talk about last news of RE, having few forums "areas" ensure that more people pass through the same place and can keep the place more alive.
I feel that the RE.net board is a bit clumpsy, (useful to see the last post, unconfortable for everything else). But if there were going to be a new forum, I think that it shouldn´t be divided with so many areas.

setting aside my whole "the old stuff is getting forgotten!" boohooing, they don't even really have subforums for even the new games, they simplified the hell out of just about everything to where basically everything is just general discussions.
