You don't need a lot, you will need : -a software like audacity or sony vegas -the music you want to have in game as an audio file (not a video) (I always use .mp3 files) -the game files (for sure...)
So here you want to change mercenaries bgm ? So copy paste on your desktop the file s_bgm020.sngw which is located here : C:\Program Files (x86)\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\nativePC\sound\bgm\oto\bgm\s_bgm Go to a converter online and convert your .sngw audio file to an other (better choose .mp3).
Once done open your software (audacity, vegas,...) and open the sngw converted file and the music you want. This is where it's more complicated, you will have to adjust your music to fit properly with the original music file, your music mustn't have the higher sound or you game won't play it and the lenght of the musics have to be the same. Mute or delete the original file in your software to hear only your music. Once done Save your new music as a .ogg audio file.
So know you have the music but it won't be played. The only things you will have to do is to rename the file ang replace "ogg" with "sngw" and copy paste the custom "s_bgm020.sngw" file to the same filewe used earlier : C:\Program Files (x86)\CAPCOM\...\bgm\s_bgm

i saved it as an ogg file and renamed it but its still an ogg file. How do I change it to an sngw file?
I know this post is '' very old '', but this is important!!
So ... to change the file extension, you must go to '' Folder Options '' in the taskbar search on the Desktop, and activate the box that shows the file extensions for all files in Windows. If that is disabled, you can only change the file name and not the file extension, so the file will continue to be an .ogg file and not an .sngw file.
With that enabled, you can now change for real the file extension and not just the name.

glisp: fluffyquack might as well just stop adding trainers to his mod manager. He refuses to update them to work with the latest version of the games. There's no point in having them.
