Exactly. I thought about not doubling that zombie but thought it was a nice surprise. The same happened with the crypt area. A crimson version of the fat zombie was lurking at the bottom of the steps which was a bit of a surprise however if you killed him the one in the coffin then did not appear. I took this area out of the mod but may readd it if I can fix this. There's one other guy who modded enemies in this game. Unless I'm mistaken he was able to figure out how to control the progression of certain zombies into Crimson Heads. I presume that for these particular enemies there were plot triggers that contributed to that. Maybe there's a similar way to make sure the fat zombie only mutates some time *after* the coffin-Crimson Head is killed. I remember way back playing the Gamecube version with Action Replay codes which enabled instant crimson heads which rose when you reentered a room. Interestingly I don't think anyone played this to the point where you kill the dog with the collar as this crashed the game. Presumably this is because the value for the Crimson heads to start rising changes at that point. I wonder how robust the PC version would be if someone managed to replicate that modification. I believe all the values along with items are defined in the BH.exe file but I wouldn't know where to start and seeing as the file is around 10MB it would require a team or master hacker to understand it all. Thanks BladeZero for the info.

Can you do the same with Resident Evil 0?

i found something, at the room where you get the missing part of the musical score, the extra zombie appears from the nothing once you move the furniture and trigger the event, maybe you can make him appear inside the little hallway instead of the outside? but its really surprising, scared the hell out of me xD also this big guy just stands there, you auto aim him but you can't shoot at him, he doesnt even care to look or attack you xD gotta say that this mod is really cool, its amazing to see this number of enemies so randomly! hope you can add more variations

Thanks for playing and there were a few surprises for me when I last played it too.
As you can probably tell I have ceased any work on mods as I kind of achieved what I set out to do. I think only if item manipulation was achieved I may return to work on further stuff but for now I'm just glad that people have had some fun with them at least.
Regarding Resi 0, if it has been designed the same way as Remake which I suspect Capcom will have done, increasing the enemy count could be done with the same principle I used here. It's as simple as editing the quantity number in the EMS file within the arc for the respective room.

Here's my second release: Very Hard Mod. This mod currently doubles all common enemies where possible. Please note this mod is a beta and is not a finished product. I have played up until the courtyard on Normal difficulty without any problems so if anyone plays beyond that and encounters any problems please let me know. Preferably if you can tell me what room caused the fault and what difficulty you are playing on that would be helpful.Enjoy and remember it's rude to bring an infinite ammo gun to a survival horror party! Version 0.1: www.mediafire.com/file/9rkwgleg38vc8zp/Very_Hard_Mod_V0.1.zipVersion 0.2 (With added enemy files to prevent any potential error messages, this version is recommended over 0.1) www.mediafire.com/file/49t14dbysb16nfj/Very%20Hard%20Mod%20V0.2.zip

Holy s***, there are like 5-6 zombies in the arrow corridor with this mod! I thought "this is unplayable" at first, but I eventually managed to zigzag my way through without taking too much damage (with a bit of luck ) It really helps rediscovering the game. However, I think I've only seen extra zombies in the west wing of the mansion so far. I'm pretty sure all the zombies in the east wing were the vanilla ones (the U corridor next to Richard only had 2 zombies, the staircase room with the near-broken door had 3 and the room with the Spencer key room had only 1). Also, I wonder if the extra enemies are "attached" to the existing ones: I killed a zombie at one point and upon leaving and re-entering the room, one of the extra zombies had disappeared... Anyway, I've played that game so many times it's a cakewalk now, so nice job with this mod

Here's my play-through with this mod on Mountain Climbing Difficulty, it's very doable. I'm trying out on Real Survival, so i'll see how that goes, I love this mod nothing is scarier that seeing 3 hunters all gang attack you and 3 Super Zombies all charging towards you lol. Thank you for this mod and have a glorious day!

_____Accidentally ended up here, meant to go to the RE2 REMAKE section, but I'm glad I showed up anyway. From the looks of this profile pic, many are you are saying that it's only appropriate that my existence is an accident anyway! Anyway! Looking around, seeing what you people are saying, I think to myself... You're all nuts! What? Game's not hard enough? _____But for one thing, good games ARE hard games! Hard games last longer. Decades ago, a video game critic once said that a game without challenge is just an interactive screensaver. Dude was right! Just one look at sales of the DARK SOULS franchise, the REMake games (all of them tough, tough, tough for casuals), and all the online multiplayer games. All of them are challenging. And it's the challenge that'll keep people coming back for more! Now if only I could stop looking for naughty pictures of certain french politicians (Aurore Berge? Mmm...) and find more time to PLAY said games instead of just MODDING them? Then things'll be awesome.
