too bad the fix for hunk and wesker's melee moves in main game doesn't entirely work for SW...during some stages melee doesn't work Yes. I noticed it too. Wesker and Hunk can not use their Thrust Punch and Neck Breaker in some area of Separate Ways. It happens in cemetery (chapter 1) and central village (chapter 2). But I fixed it. Use this. OMG!!! thanks for this!!! really thanks Mr.Curious: i think we still need the melee fix for main game

OMG!!! thanks for this!!! really thanks Mr.Curious: i think we still need the melee fix for main game I get it now.. the Japanese site melee fix was all main game models... and the new one from 3getu841 are for Separate Ways enemies. We may need to do another fix for Assignment Ada if it uses different enemy models than the ones that were patched. Interesting though how that kick is no longer present, but all for the better. The thrust punch is wayyy cooler. Thanks for all your input & feedback. Very helpful!

People are free to try and see what works with this SW Stage fix and I guess we can do our best to fix it as we go. As for the videos feel free to post those playthrough's in this thread if you like =) I'd love to have a look. Thanks!

As for the videos feel free to post those playthrough's in this thread if you like =) I'd love to have a look. Thanks! Below is my findings about melee fix in character swap. 1.Swap into main game-We need to fix 10 emXX.udas files. -3 characters (Wesker /Hunk /Krasuer) need the fix. -Ada does not need any fix when she is swapped in main game. She can perfectly move in main game with default emXX.udas. 2.Swap into Separate Ways -We can play most stages of Separate Ways if above 10 files are installed. -There are 2 stages in which Wesker /Hunk /Krauser can not use melee attack. -We need to fix another 2 files (em42.udas and em44.udas) to play character swap in Separate Ways. -Leon does not need any fix when he is swapped in Separate Ways. But there are 2 stages (em42 and em44 is used) in which his kick becomes Ada's spin kick. 3.Other notes about emXX.udasWe need 2 kinds of emXX.udas in accordance with the character we use in main game. (1)Leon/ Ada/ Wesker/ HunkThese 4 characters can share the same emXX.udas in main game. Their FCV numbers do not interfere each other. (2)KrauserOnly Krauser can not share the same emXX.udas. He needs his own emXX.udas in main game. Krauser's upper kick is same FCV number as Leon. And his lower kick is same FCV number as Wesker's Thrust Punch. As a conclusion it is best to exclude Krauser from other characters. We need to switch 2 kinds of emXX.udas. One is for Krauser only. And the other is for 4 characters.

I found a bug in your latest version 1.4. It is r50d. There's no AEV trigger except hook shot to enter the room where we pick up Hourglass (the key to open the door to r510). I remember I was able to enter and exit the room in your 1st version when I played Wesker in Separate Ways. This is the only bug in your latest version. It will be perfect when this is fixed.

The V.1.5 update is now available for download in link in original post! Excellent science you bring my friend! Well investigated. So.. then, how do you think we should proceed then? Do we need to make a separate fix for Krauser or do you think people will be ok with the way things are now with the original Japanese fix and your latest one?

I tried to move over those 3 files that I was told to into Krausers UDAS and add it into the LST fle and adjust the file amount as well, but when i repack the size of the file doesnt change and in-game works the same and I still have the same issues and crashes. I'm thinking I am using the repacker wrong maybe idk, It says to drag the LST onto the exe repacker, which I did, and it does create a new udas but doesnt seem to include the new files.

ok I can help but we have to go through step by step. First let me ask.. Are you trying to do what mister t was suggesting with the BIN files? Perhaps if you explain what you want, I can help and there might be an easier way to do this than opening up character model files. I am not sure what LST fle you are talking about, so that's maybe where we should start. (never heard of LST file) If you are determined to to open up some files and mod a bit I will explain the UDAS archive & Udas Tool. In short, the UDAS tool works by simply extracting/repacking UDAS archives which contain all the bin, tpl and other files that models & rooms use. Most Udas archives have an LFS extension on them which is simply a compression layer that makes file sizes smaller. So for example you would see r400.udas.lfs. First to access the r400.udas file you need to uncompress the LFS extension with the LFS tool. After this is done you get the UDAS file without the LFS extension, so for example we now have r400.udas instead of r400.udas.lfs After this we use the UDAS tool to extract the contents of the UDAS archive (UDAS is yet another archive with other files inside it). So using the UDAS extract we open that up and get a newly generated folder with all the contents of the UDAS archive. We can modify those files, and the repack, but before we are good to go we have to remember that if there is another file in the target directory of where that repacked UDAS is going to go with an LFS extension it must be moved, renamed or deleted. Example: if we are copying our newly edited r400.udas file to Resident Evil\BIO4\ST4\ we must delete/move/rename the r400.udas.lfs to something else or it will override the r400.udas file we put there and the r400.udas will not be read. The IDX is simply the INDEX file for all the files in the UDAS folder. Unless we are adding newly named items (or removing existing ones), into the UDAS archive, this file will not be edited.

If we simply want to fix melee moves in main game, we can find 2 fix at present. 1. original Japanese fix- This fix interfere with Krauser's melee but works fine for Wesker and Hunk. Leon and Ada also work fine in main game with this fix. 2. Krauser combat pack- This fix works fine with Krauser but interfere with Leon's kick and Wesker's thrust punch. Probably no problem for Hunk and Ada. We can't make comprehensive fix for all characters. As a conclusion there's no reason to make something new. All we need is to switch 1 and 2 in accordance with the character we use in main game.

A fix to krausers melee would be awesome Just use enemy archives of my Krauser Combat Pack and after take a original pl0a and add jump and radio fix files. Any question? 3getu841's SW fix works perfeclty for playing extreme condition mod with alternate char. melee wouldn't entirely work with this mod enabled but with that fix its now ok.
