I know, I know, what's new in that? Nothing, but I figured I would call for help with this one, since I've tried lots of things and none seem to fix my problem. So, I obviously installed a few mods (mostly texture mods) and every single time I go up the underground ladder in chapter 1-2 that leads to Mendez's house my game crashes. I'm going nuts trying to fix this, these are the mods I've installed:

But what I did is this:
Look for the file with the same name that the mod had inside the game folder.
when I found the files that had the same name I delete the original file and place the mod files
Idk if you already did this but thats what I did back in thed days
hope it helps somehow

Both albert, cris and I mentioned in our respective post that if you present this type of problems use the 4GB patch tool, do not worry it's just the name the patch only weighs 20 kb  You can download it from >HERE<If the problem is still present check that the mods are installed correctly Greetings and luck

I patched the .exe but now it won't even start anymore, it says "the application could not be started correctly (0xc0000142)"

Update: After a THOROUGH session of testing, installing and uninstalling, I finally figured out it was the Ultimate HD Weapons Pack and Real Ultra HD Leon mods that were causing the crash
Too bad I guess, those were awesome mods :\

i haven't installed any mods and the game crashed "the application could not be started correctly" can you help me ?

If it isn't then RE4 original mods you should be using as to not crash your game or introduce other bugs. For me personally, normally the game crashes like that when I don't install the mod correctly. maybe double check what your doing is right?
