THE ENTIRE SUBPLOT IS ENTIRELY POINTLESS. in the discord we talk with many people,and i talk to some supposed guys from the marketing campaign of re7 ,again i am not sure 100% but there is a clue.in the first resident evil 7 trailer at 2015 you will see a lake with dead fishes and a ladder ahead frame.and that frame looks like the place when you find in the complete game at near at the end when you will see dead fishes and a save room with a radio. Given I've actually had press access, I can outright say that you wouldn't know. All departments have NDA, they're not really allowed to discuss things on social media while certain NDA clauses are active, including but not limited to discussion of development and/or promotional assets unless cleared by the legal team because it would be a breach in contract. Even one of the artists behind the 3D scanning was not permitted to discuss things beyond what had been previously cleared for promotional usage. Furthermore, US and EU marketing divisions are entirely separate to the Japanese one which is closed off more towards only Japanese based publications houses that have things like say, Famitsu. JP side tends to be more quiet on things in general. Just take it for how it is. Anything that would be permitted to be said would have an officially headed or signed off on rundown, as well as additional imagery via presskits which would be provided to x number of sources for x region OR on the internal press sites.

Speaking of development of this game. Who were supposed to be the zombies, BSAA army guy and the long haired blonde woman from last year's photogrammetry (how do you even spell that?) presentation from Capcom?

I've seen a lot of fake content in the community, some of it is astounding with the effort put into it (Bio2 '1.5' fake builds from hacked Trial Editions and burned to time-period correct CD-Rs would be my favourite one so far!) and others.... not so much. Speaking of development of this game. No specific statements were made, they were shown off during a tech demo so if they are assets to be used then DLC possibly in relation to 7 or it could be something else in the works like reference materials for things like Vendetta. So no idea, if they do get used it'll be seen but there's no official statements regarding them beyond demo/tech asset presentations and have been included as such within a few artists' résumé after being shown at the presentation. Things do get made for various usages like reference assets for comics, films or just extra padding promotional assets. So until things get used or noted in any official standpoint that goes to the public (because leaks can cause changes, not uncommon in the industry) then it's to just be taken as something 'extra' or concept, pitch sort of things but not necessarily 'supplementary' to final if that makes any sense?

It's also entirely possible it was concept art/renders. Alternatively, they could've been red herrings, something a lot of developers are becoming fond of these days.
