Kyoka Katagiri V2 UHD
EDIT - Download links have been updated to V2. V1 has now been replaced with V2.
Better bone mappings, fixed colliding objects (bunny on bag, radio on front), fixed 1 hair transparency bug, reduced polycount to under 20000. Fixed hands not meeting wrists properly.. Also added 3getu841's female grenade bin fix.
Greetings! I am ready now to release my first ported mod which was originally created by David Flores for the 2007 version of Resident Evil 4. In his original video we see Kyoka using a crossbow and other unique animations for explosions & targeting. Since my port of this mod is for Leon, I did not include the special weapons. I may release an updated version with some different features, but this release allows players to use all their regular weapons.
So a big thank you to David for allowing me to port this mod and share it with everyone. It was a few of his beautiful creations that actually inspired me to learn how to modify the 2007 models and port them to this UHD version of RE4. Thank you David for being such an inspiration... Keep up the good work friend.
I would also like to acknowledge the two people who put up with my incessant questions throughout the process of learning how to do all of this.
Son of Persia.. I could not have done this without your amazing tool set, and the patience you had with my unending curiosities. I will still have more questions for you in the future, but for now I think I have a solid base thanks to you. I would also like to acknowledge Markos for the time & effort that he took to explain things from a different perspective.
It is this kind of benevolence & patience that these two individuals have shown that make a community like this flourish, and make it possible for someone like me to learn how to do something new & interesting. A BIG THANK YOU to you both!
Now on with the mod!
(be sure to watch video above in 1080p for best quality)
Details & installation instructions:
Before starting this install please remember to always backup all your original files and store them somewhere safe.
(1) You first need to install the Main Game Fix for Female Models from "Girls of Biohazard Mods" website. You can read the details about this install HERE. A big thank you to 3getu841 for allowing me to make my model with your amazing fix. This fix saved me hours of work, and makes it much easier to swap out with other models using this fix.
(2) Copy Kyoka's files to their relative destinations. Instructions on directories are included in the READ ME FIRST file. Note**please make sure that all other .lfs versions of the same files are removed or renamed .bak. This mod will not work otherwise as the game will read .lfs files and ignore the newer ones.
Example is: the new 01000008.pack file will not work if there is a 01000008.pack.lfs file in the same folder. You can either move the original .lfs version to another directory, or change the original .lfs file name to 01000008.pack.lfs.bak. This procedure goes for all files in the downloaded package.
(3) If you wish to have Kyoka use a female voice as shown in my video above, you can get the 'Female Voices in Main Game' fix HERE from the Girls of Biohazard Mods site. Instructions on installation are provided with the download, and is a small file to replace.
***Please note that the Kyoka model will not work with the tactical vest enabled. This will cause the game to load Leon's original model during game play. This restriction is further explained by user 3getu841 in his post linked in step 1***
Also note that this mod is just over 20983 polys, which I am told over 20000 is no good, however after hours of testing with most weapons on most maps, I have not encountered any crashes. There is a small bit of lag when the model first loads for about 3 seconds, but after this it is fine. Please report any crashes to me on this thread and we can go from there. I may have to make a slightly smaller version of this mod by removing some elements, but I wanted to remain true to the original mod by including everything.
That's it.... Enjoy the mod!
