I can agree with what some of you say, especially about people keeping mods private and not open to public. What is the point of showcasing a mod if one is not going to really share in the long haul? But that is their choice and we have to respect it, and some people do actually take the mods and claim them as their own on the internet. So there is mod copy infringement. So the privacy also has reasons for security, but then it turns into paranoia as well.
Mods get only so much love via comments anyway, because most people who use the mods are not actually forum members. If the forum had permission where only members could access the attached links then in might be a different story.
But honestly that is modding, it's not perfect and some of your hard work will go unnoticed. My reskins (all I know) take a good hour or two of my time, sometimes more, I don't do it to gain affection or impress people, I do it for myself.
Modding shouldn't be about garnering likes and adoring comments on every project and again I think modders who believe that their works need more appreciation, and in turn complain about a lack of affection, need a big reality check.
A mod is like any project, its what you get out of it, not what others get out of it. Otherwise all things would be a husk of popularity contest like the music industry.
The greatest work is not always the most appreciated work. History has shown this in all sorts of media, where people's work was only appreciated after some time of no recognition or after they died. This doesn't have to be the case with mods, but still it is a reality. Not everything of worth that you put into the world will be noticed right away.
Requests can be tricky because everyone has different standards, and they require alot of work in some cases. Some modders are more willing than others, and some modders do modding for themselves, as their motivation does not come from pleasing other people. That's how hobbies go and for most, modding is a hobby not a full time job.
Also many questions can honestly be answered by the askers being more proactive and PMing a modder or actually looking in the forum, it doesn't have the best search engine, but still using it is more efficient than posting a thread with the question in mind and constantly asking in the shoutbox.
People don't need to commit their time to strangers on the net if they don't want too. Again for most modders here modding is a hobby, not a commitment.

A bit off-topic, but: Do you take requests? If so, I have a few... As for you giving up, I have a small question I asked a very dear and good of mine while back... I really hope that this doesn't seem insulting, but why did you decide to make mods?

because i wanted to give something to the community and i do take requests but i can only do so much, i cant do models or anything but i can do reskins, some audio, and such. I've asked in some areas if anyone wanted a certain mod but no one ever says anything :/ Then, keep doing what you're doing. Good mod is good mod. Doesn't matter if it's a reskin, audio, or what not... If it fulfills you, keep doing it.

I also have two mods which I never released.
One is full Uroboros Wesker and the other one is some Krauser Mod for UHD.
But they are not ready to publish because I stopped working on them and started Fallout 4 mods and joined nexus community. Sometimes I think that I could finish and release them but I actually don´t feel like doing Resident Evil mods. But maybe I will finish them one day.
I can say you that giving up is the wrong decision. Everybody of us was a little fish and we all worked for our status on this forum. You can give up or think about something really nice others would like.
But the real point is that no one really answers because they don´t care or they explained it 100 times to other people. It is like answering the same question 100 times because no one really reads similar questions and just starts a new thread. So this is my opinion and I hope you can handle it.
Don´t give up!
