Hi guys, I have loved Resi 5 for many years, I really want to make new mods and I am struggling where to begin and learn. If anyone would be interested in teaching how to mod resi 5 and take a noobie under their wing and make a new friend, please contact me. I have max and zbrush experience. Thanks guys

Well if you haven't already, there's a modding tutorial section for RE5. I used to mod textures a long time ago, although I know everything you need for models is also within the "arc" files of the game. Be welcome.

Hi Fenix, Yes i have been looking through the forum threads. The only one i can seem to find that goes into any detail regarding full model modification is: residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/1504/re5-mod-toolHowever the recommended videos to watch by darknessvaltier are all down. I tried contacting Valtier on youtube regarding the videos but have not had a response yet. Do you know of any specific threads or tutorials that can help?

I used to mod RE5 back in 2009,2010 so my memory on some of it might not be the best lol. I'm probably way late but I noticed the DLC and gold edition was released on PC quite some time ago that I entirely missed so I picked up that but felt compelled to brush up on some things since I never did care much for vanilla games. I did play RE6 some but was busy with other things in life too. If you'd of caught me years ago, I could have helped it about anything lol, when I was actively working on things, including models, meshes and other such things in other games outside of the Resident Evil games since I noticed people are doing that with these games now too. I noticed they've been bringing back some of the older games too as remasters or remakes which I might have to look into sometime this year too.
The best advice I can give regarding any form of modding though for anyone starting out is to do the research, have the programs needed then download some mods and take apart those mods in the programs. As seeing those mods in the game then seeing them in the program, you'll have a better understanding of their function, placement, etc in the program much faster than just reading tutorials and going by mere trial and error. Sure you don't use someone else's mod to make your own but it can be quite helpful in learning the process then once you feel like you've got it all down then you can get to work on one of your own from scratch.

Hi Southbeatz,
Thanks for your reply, i was thinking of looking at some existing mods to try and figure some things out.
Can anyone confirm if the process for RE5 is the same as the one shown in this video by Mariokart:
