Note: This extra game mode does not support PlayStation®VR. Ethan must die sounds awesome. For me that seems to be the pick of the DLC.

SO all DLC is basically variations of the MAIN GAME and take place in the EXACT SAME LOCATIONS? Phew, talk about milking. Or budgeting. Or just being cheap.

So, I got the game several days ago and finished it. Hurray. I even Platinum'd it, because I hate having fun. No spoilers below, don't worry.
...I didn't like it. I pretty much knew going in that I'd hate it, but boy Capcom love surprising me. I think RE7 is the latest installment of "Eastern games trying to Westernize and sucking for it" for me. The previous ones being FFXV, Dark Souls 3, and MGSV.
If you like Western horror, then I guess RE7 is fine, but if you're like me and the core of RE's identity is the Eastern horror aspects, then you'll be burned. Hard. Call me Uroboros because I've been scalded so hard by this time game that I can lick my bones.
I can appreciate that they wanted to bring back the whole "House, safeboxes, limited resources" thing, but the problem is they framed it in such a way that it feels like I'm playing a Resident Evil tribute game, not a Resident Evil game. Here's the other thing: I was actually intrigued by the idea that 7 would be disconnected from the other games somewhat, without the stupid viruses and biocorp thing. Buuuuuuuuuuuut Capcom being Capcom, they ruined that for me too.
I have more gripes but I don't think taking up 50% of the forum. If you want a tl;dr: I don't like it and I feel bad for the person who bought me this game because they can't refund it.

I just genuinely hope this won't become the standard for the series, because the amount of hype and fanboism this game is getting is absurd, especially because now all the bandwagoning "Capcom ruined the series with 4 to 6" fans are finally enjoying the return of "horror" (are jump scares really horror though?) and the series' trademark item boxes.
