Outbreak had co-op and it was very punishing and spooky in enviroments, although the company I had with me, were probably spookier. Hardly action packed when compared to RE5 and RE6.
However to say that co-op was the cause of the series to go action orientated, I disagree with this as RE4 had plenty of action to make it virtually the same as its sequel (RE5). RE6 was an attempting to go back to horror but failed miserably in that they didn't really design around horror, despite the attempt.
However both RE5 & 6 were incredibly fun games. If a game can't be fun then what the heck is the point of playing it?
Now RE7 is somewhat fun, or at least I'm hoping, because the demo for me, has alot I would not perceive as fun right now. Would co-op make what I've experienced in the demo funner? No, it would make the game trivial and even remind me of those god awful horror based indie multiplayer games.

Everything looks great.
But the cloths physics are crap like any other game. Wish they someday add cloth physics like Fifa 16, 17.

I can say that I am definitely going to miss the replay value that other more recent Resident evil games offered, although I was definitely not a fan of cooperative gameplay within the solo campaign (since it further negated any survival horror)I was however very into it being a side feature for modes like Mercenary Mode and Raid Mode, it added so much replay value to the game in such a major way and added hours upon many hours worth of fun even once your completely done with the game, If such modes are done now its a real shame really, I'm curious to see what route they could possibly go as far as replay value goes, but at this point my guess would either be Side Story DLC,unlockable Difficulty modes, or New Game+ and while all those would bring some incentives to pick the game up again after completing the story they hardly compare to what the recent Resident Evil games where offering.
I'm also curious about how we as a modding forum or going to take on mods for a game that is First person and from what I understand is going to require new ways to tackle it as far as actually modding the assets of the game goes.

I think, having different story based on one's action would increase the replay value. The demo proved that there could be several plots and endings based on players choices. Which is good iMO.

Capcom is not very god at that whole "we'll remove stuff from the PC demo because people will datamine/mod and find our game's secrets" just did some datamining from the demo and found a whole load of stuff. weapons, name of final boss, and more. if you want spoilers head over here: !!SPOILERS!! Re7 file listif not... then don't go there till the game is out So this is not a spoiler but a bizare thing I found whilst datamining... but the game refers to PSN and XboxOne Matchmaking services for Multiplayer. and the option to "addlocalplayer"... this game doesn't have multiplayer! maybe a leftover from an old build of the game...?

What if it had something like a Agent Hunt of some kind, like you get to play as enemies and join in and torment other players?^^

Credit to Temp89 On Reddit. Crazy House is akin to Revelation's Raid Mode, where you clear maps again and again for rewards, except most cards are trap-based consumables.

Ooo so they did shove multiplayer in. Typical.
I haven't tried the demo yet as I haven't been home in two weeks but I will play and report back as soon as I'm able. I have no expectations from this game whatsoever but the demo may change my mind.
Regardless, Revelations 2 had the most balanced form of the over the shoulder gameplay that I found both enjoyable and useable in horror oriented environments and scenarios which is why I hope it will be back in a spin off entry that isn't a counter strike competitive wannabe. That and REmake2 are what really interests me for the future of the series.

So I don't know if this is gonna be a thing... but the Demo EXE mentions the steam workshop. and that it can get files from there... IS CAPCOM FINALLY THFROWING MODDERS A BONE? (or is it nothing)
SteamAPI_ISteamRemoteStorage_EnumeratePublishedFilesByUserAction SteamAPI_ISteamRemoteStorage_EnumeratePublishedWorkshopFiles SteamAPI_ISteamRemoteStorage_EnumerateUserPublishedFiles
there's a few more mentions of this.
now we shouldn't get our hopes up just yet as it could mean absolutely nothing (same with the multiplayer really...), but if this is the start of modding support and mod sharing through steam that's gonna be nice

I think a lot of games have that, even games without workshop support, it's just generic code induced as part of using the steam DRM.

Considering how highly moddable the games are it's a shame there's no workshop available for the MT Framework era games at least.

Probably because there aren't any notable mods. Reskins, model swaps and the odd stat change don't warrant a workshop.

I think most workshops on Steam are somewhat saturated with cosmetics. I see no reason why there shouldn't be a permanent host for mods - our community is great but a lot of threads here contain obsolete links and image hosts (this is also a modder's responsibility of course, but some don't stick around here) Overall our community deserves recognition and a workshop could contribute to that and it could also attract more artists and developers.

While it would be nice, to me it's honestly wishful thinking as it's likely just part of the general Steam-specific overlay data and the like in the same vein to how there's still PlayStation Network and Xbox stuff still floating around in references in the last few games.
That and the fact that none of Capcom's games have had any sort of workshop support in an official regard makes it seem unlikely to me. Especially if stuff in the files is correct about DLC and what-not.
