Did a quick translation from the newer Famitsu article. The rebuilt Umbrella Corporation. The trademark logo was changed at the time of it's reconstruction, prior it was previously known as the "Red Umbrella" 「赤の傘」mark and is now known as the "Blue Umbrella" 「青の傘」 mark. Chris Redfield descends to the current area of operation, once again heading into an extremely dangerous locale from which he may not return alive. The environment is riddled with "Death" (enemies, things to kill you etc) and a mask proves to be indispensable. In contrast to Ethan who has been involved within this same incident, Chris is prepared for a variety of dangerous situations with a range of equipment for strategic purposes. Such equipment is as the following: - An enclosed helmet and gas mask, which provides details regarding his physical condition, the condition of the environment. As the mask is a piece of state-of-the-art equipment, it also includes a head-up display which displays things such as the amount of remaining ammunition in real time. - Due to the harsh environmental conditions, and with the assumption of both bacterial weaponry and toxic gases being used, if the player installs an Oxygen Cylinder into the Backpack, it's entirely possible to negate such threats and continue to progress through such areas. - In addition to having a reserve of ammunition with the Tactical Vest, it's also easy to see Chris having Hand Grenades equipped. - Chris is equipped initially with the Samurai Edge Albert W. Model 01. It is currently unknown as to why Chris is carrying a firearm that bears the name of a certain bitter enemy. ((This may potentially be due to properties of whatever special ammo these models are using, genetic basis against certain B.O.W.s but it's intentionally vague here to be part of the "mystery" that will apparently be resolved at the end of the DLC)). ----- The hero of this episode is the veteran, Chris Redfield. The theme of the episode is "to escape from extremes" and is effectively the same as the main story, but it features additions to combat that gives an exhilarating and refreshing feeling. The story ought to serve as a bridge between the main game and the rest of the Biohazard series, which gives us a confrontation of both old and new characters. The main sense of this episode will differ to the main game, which was set to target "overwhelming fear" as the main sense. "Not A Hero" will settle one particular mystery, and is a present from us (Capcom) to both the players and series fans who have cleared the main game. Please stay tuned for more soon. ----- In addition, Tokyo Marui will be releasing another Biohazard airsoft gun of the "Thor's Hammer Albert Wesker Model 02" 「アルバート.W. モデル02」 Product price has not been confirmed currently, but it will be a Limited Edition item and it will also include special green shells, among a few other particular details that will be unique to this particular model. www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/bio/special/thors_hammer/(Please note: I have not included the exact details for the replica gun as I am not entirely versed in firearm component terminology). Red flags everywhere, and still more info that matches up to stuff pulled from the text months ago.

Hmmmm "which gives us a confrontation of both old and new characters" - Sooo who else (from OLD characters) beside Chris will be in this DLC, i would really want to know ....) Even though the main game and its dlc's didnt impress me much, and i probably wont play it again, this dlc is the only thing which im actually interesting to see. Especially cause this dlc's story will be - "the story ought to serve as a bridge between the main game and the rest of the Biohazard series". P.S. I still hate that First Person Camera view in this game...)

Actually, this REALLY suprises me.
For the amount of Hype that surrounded this game and It's VR Gimmick which youtubers and streamers ate up. I would have expected it to atleast reach 4m.
Still got close though

But they did say RE8 was gonna be very different to RE7. Seems like Capcom are going through an experimental stage.

Still got close though Good thing it didnt XD that means NO MORE FPS wooooo <3 i hope XD i dont want more FPS FPS sucks :C I also hope this steers them away from the FPS style as well, I've said it many times that I do not want this type of gampelay to stay on as a mainstay in the series, but they where heading in the right direction with the complete focus on survival horror and the return in inventory management/ammo control so hopefully they do not go away from that aspect of it. They should keep the focus on survival horror but do away with the FPS gameplay and go back to 3rd person, also they need to go back to the drawing board and start coming up with a complete variety of enemies because RE7 was severely lacking in the unique enemies department compared to the various different and interesting BOWs we got in previous Resident Evil games. Also they dropped the ball COMPLETELY in the replay value department compared to the old games as well so I'm sure that also affected sales once word got out that there is no extra modes or features once you beat the game (unless you pay $$$ for DLC) so the lack of a Raid mode or Mercenaries mode probably did not help the game either, I know I certainly have not picked up the game at all since I beat it since I have absolutely no incentives to play it again other than wanting to get the free Not a hero DLC once it comes out.

4 million copies in 2 fiscal years. This is Capcom's expectation. as much as we know and also it was on all of the games' websites (they were quoting capcom) actually they have planned to sell 4,000,000 copies on day one! www.vg247.com/2016/12/09/capcom-wants-to-sell-4-million-copies-of-resident-evil-7-on-launch-day/ Friday, 9 December 2016 12:52 GMT their biggest mistake in this game is misunderstanding about the means of going forward to give the game an upgrade to next level when i saw that the director and producer were talking about fight in space i realized that they do not know anything about the RE by wasting lots of money they made the re6 and then they punished the fans cause of their own mistake they thought oh my god what we have to do for next game (there is an interview about this case) if we want to keep the re6's direction so we have to go to space next time!! (i have posted their interview before) so lets blow it up and making it base on our fantasies and our childhood's nightmares and dreams !! and nobody can say it's not a re or even a spin off or reboot or whatever... this is absolutely and hundred percent another RE so it has to be one of the numeric ones! consulting have always been a good way to take the best decision but forcing others to like and love your fantasies isn't a good behavior this game easily could be a good re just by a little listening to fans opinions and modders could keep it alive for the company for a long time lets just hope that re2's team are taking back this franchise to its own style i wish and i hope

RE in the space, I didn´t took his words very seriously. I though that he just was promoting the change into horror of RE7 justifiying that he couldn´t continue in the action-adventure path anymore. However, later in the same interview, he mentions that Capcom is working on ways to keep offering thet kind of experience of the action adventure Resident Evil games. So what is his point? www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/masachika-kawata-interview/If Kawata doesn´t know how to make a RE sequel, that´s ok, there are more producers in Capcom with other points of view, surelly there will be other producer already working on it. 4 million copies in 2 fiscal years. This is Capcom's expectation. That would be too few for a franchise that can make 3m on its debut. In the today´s article, Capcom mention about a forecast of sell other 2 millions units of RE7 for March 2018, surelly with the price drop and the DLC propaganda, what is fine because the game by itself... won´t go much futher unless it gets more attention. Whatever, every game keeps some slight sales through the time (specially on PC), but the big gross of the debut are what more takes in consideration for feedback, if they already say that RE8 are already in plans but that it will be very different from RE7... Resident Evil 7 biohazard (for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC), which features the ability to play the full game in the included optional PSVR Mode for PS4, gave an overall solid performance - Capcom Capcom Ships 3.5 Million Resident Evil 7 CopiesThis was other of the things I noticed in the RE7 project, the marketing promotion working hard in give RE7 the illusion that it´s popular, so people don´t get discouraged to buy. There was a lot of press praising it and selling it, but at the same time there was also such small response from the fans that make RE7 reception something awkward. Now that we´ve reached the mile stone, we can see that the game managed to get near of the half of consumers than other RE games made, and from that half, a lot of them are new fans that jointed for the horror, not the RE. (therefore there are more than half of the RE fans away of RE7 counts). So despite all the press interest trying to inflate the RE7 success, we can see the there is an obvious gap, bigger than the company pretended. But anyway, as long as RE7 had this winning illusion in the market, people will continue buying it and its marketing ¿will they?... Good thing it didnt XD that means NO MORE FPS wooooo <3 i hope XD i dont want more FPS FPS sucks :C I neither want the first person perspective. And RE8 becoming something different from RE7, arise some hopes for it, but I don´t know if Capcom will discard the VR technology yet. We know that there are more RE games for other segments of the fandom, (Nakanishi was the last one in confirm that 3rd person view and popular character are still on Capcom plans for other titles), so I don´t know what route will really take RE8. Maybe the first person come back as something optional, or perhaps the keep it on the RE numbered installments as a new horror game series and keep it away of the RE games. As RE8 changes I also though that they could be: * Inclusion of popular character or * A game with connection to the RE story (beyond of 15 seconds in the ending). or * A new with a less isolated mood (Like RE3, a group of unknown survivors trying to escape alive from a city outbreak, instead of a small family of hilbillies in the swamp). or * A game with new gameplay (third person, Silent Hill style?). or * A game with more cinematic feeling and less player impersonating characters. or * New artistic design, less realistic, in order to can offer bigger content. And still a long etc... As I have understood, RE8 will be aiming to the horror crowd, yeah surelly it will improve over RE7 in different aspects and will try to get more popular market instead of so focus so much in the niche one (and more now that they won´t be able to use the VR novelty anymore) but still, I´m afraid that there are a lot of chances of finding other side story with slow pacing game and a RE title stamped in the cover. At this date I want more proofs and less words.
