How can anyone consider them remakes? They're ports. None of the RE4 versions are remakes.

The only thing I can think of is the fact that After the Gamecube version, The game WAS ported to PS2 yes,but was very downgraded(not totally like the old port anyway), but maybe because of the new features it brought unlike when the Gamecube version originally released? Idk. But well... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Despite RE6 & RE5 being on current gen consoles, they run like shit. Well on Xbox one it does. I was playing on Xbox One earlier on, playing RE5 split screen/local CO-OP and I have to say, the majority of the time in The Mercenaries United, it ran below 30FPS. It either shows that CAPCOM didn't bother optimising the game or the console is weak.

Well RE6 fps does decrease a lot if you play The Mercenaries No Mercy in split screen... Unless it's my Xbox One.

Am I seeing things or RE4 on PS4 and XOne will run at 60fps with HD textures from steam? I wonder if the Specular effects and Gamma issues are fixed in those ports. (I don't remember how the specular effects looks on steam ver. anymore, but it was not right cause it needed a mod to fix)

The past few days I been thinking about making a thank you Capcom thread here because after all these years I still love this franchise. I been gone from here a long time & wandered around here lately & looked into this thread. So it seems Resident Evil 4 has been released for xbox1 & ps4. I looked at them....& I realise that they've done IT again. Originally released 2005 this game has been ported repeatedly with 2005 textures maybe only slightly enhanced like the steam version. Either way ALWAYS LOW RESOLUTION. I really wanted to make a thank you thread I really did. Fuck you Capcom. Just fuck you. That is all.

Ouch... They are using all UHD textures.... That's bad news because some of the very few textures that were actually remade from scratch have some issues.
Did somebody take a look at the tower window in the middle of the village or the big blue gate with the optical recognition lock before entering the castle area? The new HD textures introduced in the UHD version doesn't match the 3D model. And sometimes they got wrong the material (when they re-created some old wood texture as brik texture for example). In other words, they re-created the texture without giving a damn its location in the game.
Almost every re-created texture is a fiasco to my eyes. I honestly would have preferred all upscaled and filtered textures...

Pretty sure RE4 on Dolphin with upscaled textures is better than UHD.

Pretty sure RE4 on Dolphin with upscaled textures is better than UHD. I've always wanted to do that but I could never get the game to run right...it was always a sluggish choppy mess
