Ironic, really. He went to the trouble to tell everyone who he is and all he got was a ban. Hadn't he opened his mouth he would be fine. But true, this is not a place for him, yet.

If this isn't actually in the rules, it needs to be. It's unfair to punish someone for following a rule that isn't publicly known. That said, if I recall correctly, the forum host itself requires registered members to be 13 or over.

It depends to your characteristic, I've been on the internet since I'm just a 11 years old "kid" But I don't have any problem, though my parent saw a +18 ads on my monitor for a few times.
The reason to not allow kids going through to the internet is : 1. +18 ads. 2. +18 pop-ups. 3. Violence images ? 4. "Internet is for porn" hell.. 5. Trolling. 6. Haters ? For the famous. 7. Stalker, could be pedos. 8. Asking for money to their parents ? i.e Playing Pay-2-Win game 9. Facebook is the root of all evils, LOL (Depends..)
It just how you can handle "this drug" in your mind.
I admit that my first time in the internet is browsing for porns. No offense, but mostly people at that time is likely 90% more than everyone.
In the end, I enjoy it even I've to remember all the ridiculous moments in my life. The point is, it feels like you can grow by yourself.
Note : Old or Young is doesn't matter, Age will never can guarantee your mature appearance. In fact, the only matter is your "Characteristic" and it will never fade away.
So, start to build your "Characteristic" with every "Experience" that you had.
EDIT : Hey, I think we've missed too far from the topic. Sam, any advice ?

Sad... no wonder why the chinese community is more "alive", seems they allow everyone, cuz there are pretty good young modders there.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think anyone <13 should be on the internet at all.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think anyone <13 should be on the internet at all. I agree with this. I think I only used the internet for school related projects at age 13 anyway. Mind you I was born 1990, so at around 2003-2004 there wasn't a whole lot on the internet as there is nowadays. Younger people are generally more sensitive via the internet (Something I too struggle with because I'm usually at home when I surf the web and psychologically home has always been the place of retreat, no barriers, and no BS, etc.) There is already cyber bullying, Steam drama, petty gossip, trolling, hyper sensitivity, unexpected online counseling, unwarranted confidence, extreme intimacy behind anonymity and plenty of miscommunication already on the internet from what I've experienced in my life. Social Media and cellphones/texting is having its affect on people of all ages, in how we interact and form relationships and go about our daily lives. In what way? we ask. that has yet to be determined. No doubt age demographics play a role in this. It may be better or for worse.
