Well, i know you ment it as a joke but, i have waited a long time for Resi 4 to arrive on Steam and yes i already own the 2007 version, actually i think its the 3rd time i bought it for PC xD, but this master piece is worth buying over and over!....well almost In all honesty ,what exactly this version had to offer over the cumulated modded original PC version that will warrant a new purchase(even at a reduced cost): - 60 FPS? i think there was already a mod for that. - HD textures? There were plenty of those lying around(hell i even made some myself) including even HD interface. And let's be honest a lot of textures in this game are still horrendous.I don't recall the tactical vest on Leon having white line on the side, like the uv map isn't well adjusted. The stretched textures on the top the punisher are just ridiculous. And the list goes on... - Post processing? Plenty of app offering that or at least mimicking it. - Anti-aliasing ? lol really? - Proper mouse support ? Apparently still a joke in this version. - Shader consistency across platform? Please lol - Real Time cutscenes? Yes but apparently not ALL the scenes. - A Leaderboard? O MA GAWD, i'm going to faint! If anything, that version should have been the original release. There is nothing in it,from a technical standpoint, that couldn't be accomplished 7 years ago on PC.I'm not questioning the quality of the game itself(it's an amazing one), i'm questioning the quality of a port with "HD" attached to it.As much as i enjoy the game( I've modded it bordering obsessional levels), i try to be rational in my purchases. I have a finite amount of dough and i very much want to make sure i'm not throwing it away. Capcom isn't exactly in the best of shape financially wise and they will stop at nothing to squeeze more money from the fan base lol. But then again it comes down to personal preferences. If you are really getting some plus-value from this version, you're justified in your purchase and god bless. True, true dude =D but one word: STEAM i'm collecting all my games there, so i wanted REsi 4 also =) yeah the so called HD textures are a joke!, most of the textures are the LOW res ugly ones LoL

Ugh, guys... Why are the "Separate Ways" cutscenes pre-rendered??? They're not even in HD. They're the same Ubisoft used to port the 2005 version. Damn you Capcom. You did it again, you lazy bastards. unless they wanted to fuck with people lol or laziness and we all know CAPCOM... to the people saying capcom is lazy.... the main reason why capcom was lazy on RE4UHD is because they didn't do the port themselves... they were barely involved with the port. it was an outsourced job... the Port is fully done by a company called QLOC. now the fact that capcom didn't check the port well enough yes that's a problem but it's not capcom who did this "lazy" port the reason for the SW cutscenes being prerendered is QLOC didn't have access to all the files. they based this port of the XBOX360 version. so they had that version to base the UHD version of. and in the xbox360 version SW cutscenes were prerendered. Besides they have been in every version of the game that had that mode... Tell it like it is. I'm so tired of hearing that it's all Capcom's fault. I'm also getting pretty tired of looking back at this section as well and seeing mostly criticism and complaining. No, it's not a great port. Yes, there are problems. You don't need to say it over and over. I think QLOC gets the message. A patch is coming anyway. Calm down.

Actually all those articles copying each other are wrong. 150 million dollars in the bank is pretty standard for Capcom, they were able to live with those and even with lower numbers for decades. Money in the bank is basically idle money, it is a much smarter business to invest most of your funds instead of sitting on them doing nothing. If you want hard numbers, here they are. Total amount of money in the bank: Year 2003 - 14,894 millions of yen Year 2004 - 16,957 millions of yen Year 2005 - 12,948 millions of yen Year 2006 - 678 millions of yen Year 2007 - 9,200 millions of yen Year 2008 - 13,061 millions of yen Year 2009 - 7,378 millions of yen Year 2010 - 12,299 millions of yen Year 2011 - 27,655 millions of yen Year 2012 - 11,348 millions of yen Year 2013 - 14,327 millions of yen (152,415 millions of dollars). From Capcom's annual report, pages 7 and 8. 150 million dollars is more than Capcom usually have in the bank, also overall figures kinda say money in the bank is a useless number that means nothing. What truly matters is how much they have in all of their assets.

Beta patch is out, and it fixes quite a lot of things...
------------------------------------------Changelog---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes: •Removed mouse acceleration from Keyboard & Mouse controller setup screen. “AIM MODE” option is now present instead, and mouse sensitivity settings have been re-tuned to accommodate new setting. •Users can now choose between two mouse control schemes: "CLASSIC" and "MODERN." MODERN setting makes the aiming utilizing native mouse functionality while "Classic" setting retains previous calibration from the original game. •"GAME RESET" in "RETRY OR RELOAD" has been relabeled to "RETURN TO MAIN MENU" •Relabeled “POST PROCESS” in graphics option to ‘COLOR FILTER’ •Master volume level increased.
Bug fixes: •Fixed ready-knife delay when using mouse and keyboard. •Calibrated animation speed at which pottery, lamps, boxes, barrels etc. fall apart when frame rate is set to 60fps. Set pieces getting destroyed during cutscenes such as the castle gate and gazebo have also been recalibrated. •Fixed an issue with the character performing quick turns when pressing aim while turning. •Reduced possible audio desynchronization during cutscenes. •Fixed texture on Ada's Blacktail (Bottle cap) •Fixed flickering or prolonged black screen during active gameplay on the Water level in Mercenaries Mode. •Fixed problem with Krauser's bow in Mercenaries Mode Castle level. •Fixed problem with enemies not spawning (Garrador, Leader Cultist etc.) in Mercenaries Mode Castle Level. •Fixed the speed at which hens lay eggs when frame rate is set to 60fps. •Removed green flashing screen that appeared after pre-rendered cutscenes. •Fixed Leon’s distorted voice when roundhouse-kicking Verdugo while he’s frozen. •Fixed flickering in the first custscene of chapter 5-1. •Mine cart QTE difficulty reduced for PRO level difficulty. •Restored the blue light bloom effect from the merchant’s torch.
Known Issues: •Leon’s handgun texture turns black shortly after the cabin cutscene. •Texture from one of the wooden barrels near the jet ski ride is missing (turns into a black texture)

What truly matters is how much they have in all of their assets. I'm kind of surprised. That's kind of crazy considering the rising of development cost, the amount of franchises they hold and what other comparable big gaming companies usually have... "Also overall figures kinda say money in the bank is a useless number that means nothing" Means nothing ? The Net cash is a pretty good indication if a company has enough easily accessible liquidity for future investments, as in having enough money in this case to fund new Ips or even new installments of old franchises. Capcom said it themselves, developing for next gen takes 8 at 10 times more work. Honestly looking at those numbers i don't know where they are going to find the money in the long run (liquidate some of their assets). No wonder they keep on rehashing shit, it's cost effective.

I tried the beta patch, quite good if you ask me. Mouse aim is better but I still prefer gamepad aiming.
