A little more info: just completed a run through of DE and the opening cutscene is the only one with the blood. All others don't have it. But they all have that annoying dirt smudge on her neck. I think that's part of the face texture because I re-extracted the model file for Mercs Jill with tex->dds dumping and there's a dark area near the bottom of the texture. Not sure why it doesn't show up in normal gameplay. imgur.com/VxIomHvAlso those other files in ev620_00\pawn\pl\pl17 are all textures for teeth, mouth, etc. No chest blood. What does that "tex -> dds dumping" mean? I'd like to try that myself and perhaps edit the textures in Photoshop and see if that'll work.Scratch that, found out myself. I'm going to assume Photoshop can read .dds files so I'm going to conduct some experiments with the texture files, see what happens.

As mentioned above, face textures for lower part with shading neck not used in model. Maybe you should check pl0800_09Chest_BM textures, which are responsible for chest and neck as well. Another thing that may be reason is that model uses the default cutscene head, not on your model swap. Thus, she still have texture of damaged device, rather than clean like in Mercenaries. Changing texture of head would fix this problem, but unfortunately I do not know which files are responsible for cutscenes Jill head.

I looked all through ev620_00 but didn't see anything that could be a cutscene head. So does anybody know where the cutscene heads are? I found *some* cutscene heads but they're only for Chris/Sheva (image\archive\event\evfpl*), there must be heads for all the campaign NPC chars (Wesker, Jill, Excella, Irving etc.) So near, and yet so far. By the way, I think I like Mercs Jill better now than my original request (zip-up Jill). Dat cleavage... xD

OK, so I've managed to ascertain what some of the files are within the ev620_00\pawn\pl\pl17\model folder.
All of the texture files which are named evf0200* are Jill's mouth texture files (teeth, tongue, etc.), so they're out of the question.
I also tried editing the pl0800_01Face.BM and the pl0800_09Chest_BM texture files (both of which had the messed up chest) but got nowhere. After editing them the cutscene still had the same problem that we're currently facing.

Yes like I said, all those extra textures are teeth, mouth, throat, etc. Wow this is really frustrating, I've gone through ev309_00 (cutscene before Wesker/Jill fight), ev309_10 (cutscene between Wesker/Jill and Jill alone), uem83 (zipped up Jill boss), uem84 (Jill boss w/ device) and I can't find anything new that would be a cutscene head. The only thing I can think is that the dirt on her chest is perhaps from these big dark stripes on the Mercs face texture: Mercs textureNotice that the no-device neck texture does not have these stripes: Normal textureMay it be that part of the face/neck texture gets overlapped by other textures on the body but this little bit shows? Also I still haven't figured out where the blood comes from. Maybe one of the effect arc's...

Oh, apologies. I didn't fully read your post.
And it could be the overlap between the neck and chest indeed. It's as if Jill's DE face is overlapping Jill's Mercs chest. And the blood seems to be a whole other matter too.
I'm sort of stumped on what else to try at this point. The texture files in the ev620_00 ARC file seems to do nothing when you edit them (or, at least the ones in the pawn/pl folder).

Success! I've found out what file is causing dirt bit on her neck that is overlapping the chest: The face texture that is found in the JillCos3 ARC file (the one found in the pl17 folder) is responsible for the messed up chest bit in the cutscene. No messed up neck, after long last.

Simply replace the face BM tex file in the JillCos3 folder with the same file in the JillCos2 folder.

Son of a biatch!... So what I had done, was delete all the pl0800*.tex files from pl17, and copy them to pl14. My understanding of how the *.mod file works, is that it contains a path to the *.tex files (which would be why if the tex files are not present in pl14 the game crashes), and since it didn't complain when I removed them from pl17 I thought everything was ok.
BUT... it seems there is some other code out there that looks for the tex files in pl17, and if it doesn't find them then it falls back to some other pl17 copy of it somewhere, which would be the bad version with the dirty face/neck.
TL;DR - I copied all *.tex files from pl14 back to pl17 (so there's 2 copies, 1 in pl14 and now 1 in pl17) and I get the clean chest too.
One of us should post this mod in the release area in case others are interested in it. I could do it but not sure how to do the screengrabs.
I still want to create a zip-up version as well now that I've learned something about this whole process.

I had my mind set on releasing this mod but I first still need to ascertain how to get rid of the blood effects, unless in your post by "clean chest" that includes the blood effects.
I'll release it as a mod once we figure out how to remove the blood effects.

No I still have the blood, but to be honest that doesn't bother me that much. The blood is already gone by the time Josh wakes her up, so if we don't find it that's still ok by me.
I wonder if it's in one of those effect arcs I remember Wilsonso documenting. I think it's a post in the modding tutorial forum.
