Hello there, I seem to be in quite a predicament here. After experimenting with the Jill ARC files (again), I figured I would replace Jill Battle suit (BS) DE with regular Jill Battle suit (Mercs version). Now, theoretically, replacing JillCos3 (Jill BS DE) with JillCos2 (Jill BS) should work; and in fact, it HAS worked... before Remember when I had trouble replacing Jill BSAA LIN with the Jill BSAA w/o cap mod? Yeah, well, I actually managed to get that to work.
So yeah, I've tried replacing the ARC files for Jill BS but to no avail. Even when I replace JillCos3 with JillCos2 (after renaming JillCos2, of course) she still has her default DE costume on. So right now I'm just scratching my head what I'm doing wrong here.
I did some tests with Sectus's Mod Manager, and replacing Jill BS DE costume with regular Jill BS actually works. But for some reason, manually replacing the ARC files doesn't work.
So, here I am. Stumped on what else to try, I came here in the hopes that one of you may have the know-how of solving this. So if any of you know how to solve this I'd be greatly appreciative.
Thanks in advance,
Triicell.Case closed. It has been resolved thanks to Night Furious.

Do I understand correctly that you want to have Jill Battlesuit Mercenaries version in Desperate Escape? Like this?

Yes, that's precisely what I want. But how'd you manage to do it? When I replace the ARC files, she is still with her DE costume.
Did you replace the costumes via Sectus's mod manager?

No, this is just arc file without mod manager. I copy pl1400.mod file from uPl02JillCos2 and put him in uPl02JillCos3. Then I renamed pl1400.mod in pl1700.mod (original pl1700.mod should be removed before). I also copied pl14 folder with textures in pl folder and repack arc. In any case, here download link for Jill Merc for DE chapter: www.mediafire.com/download/synaau1dlgmolwd/uPl02JillCos3.arc

I didn't realize that I had to extract the contents of the JillCos3 file and replace them with the JillCos2 file (shows you how much I know about modding, heh). Nevertheless, thanks for you help. You're a true godsend, mate.

So I found something which is... interesting, to say the least. Take a look: So yeah... it seems that there are extra effects where Jill's device used to be. As far as I'm aware, this seems to be the only cutscene that this occurs in. So this begs the question: Am I able to remove these effects by editing the cutscene event arc files?

Meh. I'll see what I can do though.

I saw that since I installed this mod too, and I actually like it better. You're referring to the missing texture of the messed up chest, right? I kind of like it better like this, honestly.
The zip-up model still has the messed up chest in the cutscene. I think it comes from the pl1700.mod file in the cutscene arc file, which is ev620_00.
EDIT: I think the files you may be looking for are under pawn\pl\pl17\model inside the ev620_00 arc.
Are you trying to get the messed up chest back? Or make it completely clean? My vote would be completely clean, but to each his own.

That's the model that I want (and is) displayed in the cutscene, but I didn't know that the remaining effects (like the blood, etc.) would still be there. If you look at the screenshot I posted, those effects (blood, etc) is what I'm trying to remove, so the model in Night Furious's post is there without all the blood and stuff.

So you want completely clean chest, ok me too. Let's work together to try and make it.
I replaced the texture files in ev620_00 same as in upl02jillcos3 (copy over pl14 folder, replace pl1700.mod) and no good. There are other files inside pl17\model, maybe one of those are the culprit.
Also, did I understand you correctly that all other DE cutscenes show correctly? Only this one messed up?

Also, did I understand you correctly that all other DE cutscenes show correctly? Only this one messed up? Yes, I tested the second cutscene in Desperate Escape (the one which occurs after you obtain the key from the Chainsaw Majini and go through the partner action door) and she was fine there; no blood effects. I, too, have tried replacing the textures in the pl/pl17 folder with the JillCos2 arc file, ranging from the model itself and parts of it, including the chest texture files, but nothing. Since this cutscene is the only scene that these effects occur in (even though I tested the second DE cutscene, I didn't test the last cutscenes at the end of DE though), maybe the effects are present on a different cutscene as well, because both the campaign and DE have the same cutscene in them. Or, maybe the effects aren't model-related (highly unlikely), but my theory is that if the effects ARE model-related, shouldn't they occur in every DE cutscene? I don't know, maybe this is simpler than it is. I'm not an experienced texture modder so I'm at a loss here. Hopefully we manage to get this working.

A little more info: just completed a run through of DE and the opening cutscene is the only one with the blood. All others don't have it. But they all have that annoying dirt smudge on her neck. I think that's part of the face texture because I re-extracted the model file for Mercs Jill with tex->dds dumping and there's a dark area near the bottom of the texture. Not sure why it doesn't show up in normal gameplay. imgur.com/VxIomHvAlso those other files in ev620_00\pawn\pl\pl17 are all textures for teeth, mouth, etc. No chest blood.

Interesting, its like a little "Shadow" for the breasts. But as you can see here that texture wasn't used at this part of the model
