I think he means that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro should keep the basis of the game, name it as something else besides Silent Hill and continue it on without Konami by possibly starting a kickstarter so fans could crowdfund it to make it happen. And they can name it anything from Death City to Limbo Metropolis or something lol.

I'm surprisingly not all that bothered. Idk, I thought P.T was underwhelming, and Silent Hill hasn't interested me in so long that I often forget it exists.

I say dump the name, crowdfund it and release it under some new title... If only. Especially considering that I have now watched the PT demo, it's more like SH4: The Room which was vaguely situated in the Silent Hill Franchise. So there is potential for it be it's own thing, it would still ring as a sequel to SH4: The Room, based off the demo. Silent Hill is a small tourist down town that has multiple dimensions. The Fog World is shrouded in fog filled with monsters and rundown and the Otherworld is a twisted dimension that is often more seemingly hellish but also more a physical manifestation of one's own darker psyche where in the monsters reflect the person's thoughts and fears. Also there are crazy cultists who want to worship some of the monsters from the Otherwold and bring about some new era by birthing their god into being. SH4: The Room went more Japanesey with murder victims as violent ghosts and claustrophobic, nightmarish domestic spaces. This game would've of been a great horror game, but as a Silent Hill game it would've been like SH4. Silent Hill 1 and 3 were the most connected in terms of plot and themes, whereas Silent Hill 2 was the more groundbreaking and renowned with it's plot. SH4: The Room was the most different out of the series in it's theme and even location, being at best on the outskirts of the town of Silent Hill with subtle references to the other games. It's really Konami that is the problem as it's the head company that decided to disband the original team and open the franchise to developed by Western (Non Japanese) developers who perhaps missed the point of the Silent Hill series and consequently made games that did nothing new to the series, it hadn't done already before. Now with the cancellation of this title they really killed off any chance of having a successful horror game under their wing. Also since it's a PS4 Exclusive title or was going to be anyhow, not many may be keen with the idea of a crowdfund. Knowing the big names involved, despite the variable collaboration, it'd be one hell of a budget to cover, let alone kick start.

Well, with Konami out of the way there's no need for it to remain exclusive to one platform;). Now it would have the opportunity to be it's own thing- a franchise starter. I don't know if Silent Hill as a series has any dibs (or copyrights if you will) on any part of the setting other than the name of the town. There were creepy-small-town-with-otherworlds games after it so I suppose a simple title change would be enough to keep Konami of their backs.
