I recommend any Intel Quad core.
I say any because they are all good enough for modern gaming.
Personally, I own an Intel Quad core, but I won't recommend it so much as the motherboards are to expensive. For a budget Quad core build I'd go for a Quad (4770k) that goes with a socket 1150 motherboard.

I'm not laughing. But just so you know, you will need quite few new internal's to play RE6.
Nothing you own is enough for it.
You don't need Core i7.
If I was on a VERY tight budget, I'd go for an AMD build instead... CPU AMD FX-4300 - $119 AUD Motherboard Asus M5A78L-M-USB3 - $79 AUD Ram G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600Mhz - $98 AUD GPU AMD 270x - $255 AUD or Nvidia GTX 660 - $219 AUD
This is assuming your PSU/HDD/OPTICAL DRIVE can be used in a re-build.
That's about the lowest I could possibly recommend for a low-mid end gaming PC upgrade right now. So based on Australian dollars you would need a budget of around $500.
Oh and if you did buy exactly this stuff, you would at least match XBox1/PS4 for graphic capability.
