I like the Evil Within, its a great game but zero scary and a bit to easy. I play it on normal and was never killed by normal Enemys yet. Only some try and die traps and one pseudo bossfight beat me. The first time i died was by the first encounter with the long haired women, because i dont saw the door and was cornered. 40% of my screen are two black bars. im now in chapter 14. and there were only 2 fights that where a bit hard. A point i dont like is that there is too much ammo, i dont even have to use the secret keys, because im almost full of ammo the whole game. So often i have to leave ammo behind because i cant take anymore and nowhere are enemys. I know its not a shooter, but why then so much ammo. You dont even have to craft Arrows. Im glad that i dont activate the Fighting chance Pack. If i have that much ammunition than i want more enemys or harder Boss fights. Another point i dislike are the try and die traps. There are some traps where i bet that 99% of the players die when they first met them. You dont die in this game because the enemys are to hard for you, you die because you run in a death trap. At least there are not that much of this type of traps but they are just boring. Until now i havent had a single Gameplay bug, just some graphical weird stuff, i play it on the 360. However great Athmo, great Charackter design, Weird Story, nice Gameplay and i like the main charackters. Sebastian is an interesting protagonist, and Juli reminds me of Helena. I think the 15. Chapter is the final and I have a very bad feeling what may happen, so if that turns out to be true i dont know if i play it again... Arww I sound a little like a boaster up there ( if thats the right word) ... its so easy blah, blah, full ammo blah, blah,... but so is the game in my opinion. And sorry for my bad english... its not my native language.

And sorry for my bad english... its not my native language. I agree about the ammo and the non-scaring enemies, but if you want a challange you can alaways finish the game using only melee. Besides there are so many lockers in that Asylum, i don't think each one keeps ammo or green juice on them. At least i hope so, but if it's ammo and juice, then, why would Shinji help people so much? My theory is : The lockers are made to help Console users, and PC users fairly, but activating the cheats on PC would disable the archievements. And please, for the sake of those who haven't played the game, don't spoil the boss fights. You can click the Spoiler button to hide some of your info.

I have opened half of the lockers in that Asylum and there are only ammo, green liquid, health injections or other keys for the same secret lockers inside, but if you dont pick them up they wont dissapear so you can collect them later or never. About that finish the game just with melees, its an option but playing the game the first time and melee everyone is an Atmo killer and not that fun. And who would have thought that they throw ammo and health every corner at you.
Spoiler,? you mean the mention of the long haired women?, but the scene i was talking about was in the trailers so the most people know her, so i thought its not an Spoiler. Anyway you`re right i try the Spoiler button next time.

I've been playing the game on PS3, since I was a little skeptical on the PC verison, and I am not home much these days so I wanted it on a platform I could easily take with me if desired. My video card is a bit out dated so I wanted a plateform I can just pick it up and enjoy it. This is the only game I've played since it's release, I am loving it. I am not a huge fan of the story, nor do I much care for the personality of the dead beat borderline emotionless main character, but I like his looks, so I've grown to tolerate it. I am on my 2nd playthrough on Survivor mode, this time in New Game +, after this I am going to start my Nightmare playthrough, which I am kinda pumped to get into.
The game is no Re4, but I really like the mesh up between RE and Silent Hill, it really tries it's best to blend the best of both worlds together, while trying to be unique at the same time.

I've only played the PC port Demo and I can agree this game is no doubt better experienced on a console. It defiantly is a cinematic game. (Better suited for large widescreen TVs) I don't have a console though. I found the camera kinda bothersome as it jitters with every movement like when the player jogs and when you're hiding behind crates against a wall, the guy takes a good close of the screen and it defiantly makes those silly camera complaints in RE5 with knife invalid. The black bars do also limit your view big time which I find makes the whole game feel more clunky (not in a good way) than it ought to be. As for atmosphere I didn't find it too tense inducing. Neither was RE4 with Leon's quips but I only played the HD edition and I'm probably desensitized enough as it is from all the blood and gore in other games. It seems to verge on violence porn almost, seeing the amount of detail they put into how you can die hahahah. I did enjoy going through the wooded areas that felt the most unique and atmospheric thus far however. I'm not even gonna assume there is a storyline as I got the impression that it was a fragmented "you fill in the gaps" kinda crap that usually reeks of lazy writing. The 1950/60's setting doesn't really makes sense to me other than fashionable clothes. The dialogue seems to modern in comparison with the setting. Gameplay and combat is fun I liked dashing from the chainsaw guy and shooting him and missing (alot). Stealth system was okay. I find the upgrading system unnecessary an seems to be catching in a lot of survival/horror games these days (WTF?!) But at the full price (Especially PC, I was just happy it would run with such awful optimization), I'll gladly stay clear of it until drops down to about 30$ or lower (it's 67$ for me on steam idk why, damn Canadian currency ) So yeah it seems fun but it also looks convoluted and almost seems over-hyped in relation to Shinji Makami's involvement. anyway that's my just my opinion

The game is pretty scary for me because many times like when there is someone's family picture in the mental hospital, you hold a and Ruvik pops up, i really hate those games that have pop up like scary maze game.... However the someitme gets slow with gtx 750 ti in the highest quality but i still live with it. Has anyone got 1.0.3 update? It actually 4.1gb it increases the perfromance for the keeper dlc or the story mode.
