So About the Disk version owners im guessing they gotta buy it again or maybe the disks are getting stuck with gfwl Every version of the game (physical or not) came with a GFWL key. So if Capcom can make those keys redeemable on Steam, then no one will have to re-buy the game.

Capcom owns everything to do with ORC, so if they really want to replace GFWL, they can do so. The only problem is that the most fitting developer to do so (the developer of ORC which I forgot the name of) might be unavailable. But they could contract QLOC to do it.
Anyway, I think there's a fair amount of games Capcom will just ignore. I doubt ORC, Lost Planet Colonies, Lost Planet 2, and any older SF (older than SF4: AE) will get updated.

they better give us gold edition for free after all this time That will never happen. Not saying it to be nasty, just pointing out that Capcom would know there is money to be made in selling the DLC. Well It is the whole point of transferring the game the money making. It is not about GFWL shutting down it is about the money. So My best bet is that they are going to sell the extra content as dlc. Knowing that thousands of people are craving for it on pc. Well I'm craving for it. I know is just like half an hour of extra content but who cares I want it xd. They know we want this and I just hope they release it.

BINGO! Like I was thinking yesterday (and Brelston from Capcom-unity confirmed) the retail box of Revelations 2 will include the season pack extras PLUS more extras. I thought about a dlc but now I'm quite sure they will add this "zombie pack" (Rev2+REmastered+(maybe) gold edition RE5?) *update* Judging by this: steamdb.info/sub/50855/apps It will be a Rev1-RE5-DeadRising2 bundle.

Yeah, that's really great news. But about the physical media owners... we should really be able to activate the game on Steam somehow. Otherwise it's just bullshit with retail buyers.

would be good if disc owners also can activate the old GfWl key on Steam. but i wonder if this is even possible. RE5 use (not like SuperSFIV) universal GfWl keys, which means the keys are not unique. you can use more then one account with the same key and it also seems you can use keys from other old games...
RE5 is now on sale with 50% discount if we can't use the old GfWl key and need to rebuy it, they sure wait to announce this after the end of the discount action so we have to pay full price >_>

Fortunatelly, looks like it was possible to activate the game on Steam for physical version owners of Super Street Fighter IV AE, when this one was moved to Steamworks. So hold your horses guys and keep the faith that CAPCOM won't disappoint us.

This is probably the best method they can use that will allow GFWL retail versions to be moved over.
