It is great but there are some questions. Are they going to release steam workshop for this? Are they going to release gold edition extra stuff? Are they going to add achievements to unlock? Well if they do I don't care if I have to buy an extra copy of the game even though I already own 2 on steam and one original windows dvd. 1. No chance we will get Steam Workshop support. 2. My bet is we will see the RE5 DLC now the game is transferrring to Steam. 3. I'd almost guarantee that Steam achievements will be added.

I'm excited! I hope this time they bring together with RE Steam version all DLC. How long have we been waiting for this guys? 5 years? If they do not release DLC, then go to hell Capcom. PS/ But just in case, I will prepare a bottle of champagne for this. RE5 Steam + all DLC, my reaction was not long in coming:

I'm excited, but I hope mods like 4 player mercenaries/versus will still work.

I'm excited, but I hope mods like 4 player mercenaries/versus will still work. My best guesses... 1. 4 player mercs will likely need to be updated to work in the Steam version 2. If I am correct and we will see the Gold Content then Versus would be part of it seems it's also part of RE5 Gold Edition. My best guess would say we will get the Gold content as people buying the DLC for RE5 would be a great way for us to pay for the costs involved in transferring the game to Steam. I'll see what info I can dig out of Wbacon about the transfer and what it means for us. (No promises though)

They better port over Gold Edition content at the same time. If not, I shall bite them. Furiously. I agree with you 100%, they better give us gold edition for free after all this time they had us angry without extra content having me to mod my characters that i don't want modded >.<!!!!!

What about RE:ORC??? I recall most of the DLC´s were meant to play with 4 people
Also does this mean we have to get the achievements all over again? ...hmmm cool excuse to play the game again with good friends and I hope Gold content too
Based purely on how the SSF4AE transfer worked... 1. Your game save would convert to the Steam version the first time you run the game. (Steam SSF4AE looks for your GFWL save the first time and converts it over) 2. Achievements in some cases would unlock instantly, others you would need to get again. Example:- You might need to S rank 1 chapter to unlock the All S on Pro difflculty Achievement again. (In SSF4AE I had the "All Trials completed" achievement and after the game transferred I just did 1 basic trial to unlock the achievement in Steam) Also if we get RE5 Gold as I suspect we MIGHT, then we can probably expect new DLC related achievements to come with it I don't think ORC or SFxT were popular enough for Capcom to feel a transfer to Steam is "viable". < My 2 cents

Frankly, I'm not willing to pay again for the game entirely. I mean, I already have three copies of the game. I agree, if they put up the price of DLC and I would gladly pay and buy them separately, but those who have already bought the main game should get her for free after transfer. I mean, so those who have already bought the game before moving to Steam, when it happens, will automatically receive her. All they need to do is pay for DLC packs, if they want to get them. But I will not pay if they combine DLC + the main game together and put up as a new product, for which I will need to pay again at the new price!

You do make a fair point, tho on consoles they had seperated downloads. - Costume Pack 1 - Costume Pack 2 - Desperate Escape - LIN - Extra Figures I'm guessing it would be the same for PC, just Cos Pack 1 & 2 will only be one of them since we have Warrior and Business already. Edit: OR it'll be like Ultra Street Fighter IV and we can "upgrade" to gold edtion :3/

Capcom don't either. What they have announced is that everyone will be able to upgrade to a Steam copy of the game that has GFWL completely stripped out of it for free. What we don't know is if any of the Gold DLC will be released as well (for sale as I do not expect to give PC users the DLC for free) or if it will just be a service transfer only.
