Even if they did not change much with the pre-rendered background images, the game looks really impressive, especially when it's compared to the original Nintendo version, so I don't think the visuals are worth complaining about when it isn't just a lazy upscale. My problem is, the visual improvements will impress me at first, but I'll eventually ignore them and just continue playing the game. They need to add other things to unlock, like costumes, new guns, and maybe even a Mercenaries/Battle Game mode, but none of that will probably happen judging by what the developers said in the announcement video. In my honest opinion, the whole "maintain original experience" thing is just a really lame excuse, and people like myself will struggle to find a reason to buy the game because of stuff like this. I just like to say regarding this, the only thing they'd add which I think probably isn't very likely is leaderboards, it'll be just like RE4 story leaderboards I'm guessing with difficulty, time, grade etc. If they were to add more costumes, mercenaries, guns etc etc. They would change the game from GC/Wii they had originally? which there not doing there just doing a REmastered version for the current platforms that don't have it pretty much, plus the added bonus of widescreen and 1080p (sorta) but yeah they're pretty much just doing a port, I highly dout with any classic RE games being ported they would add anything new, CVX, RE0 etc Overall I enjoy REmake for the story, I don't really care if I do or don't unlock stuff. We get RE3 outfit at least Definitely gonna play this when it comes out ^_^ good job on Capcoms part!

Confirmed 30fps cap but judging by the plethora of bugs that 60fps introduced on pc re4uhd, I prefer they didn't touch it, I guess the PC port will be managed by Qloc again Not Qloc uggh . . . .they make modding so difficult! (Not that I modded RE4 HD) but damn I gave up on getting a BSAA Chris model import over Leon a long time ago. -_-

I would hope that they maybe would add some extra content DLC such as weapons and Costumes, ya know, put a little more icing on the cake LOL. if we can mod the PC version, i would love to see Jill running around the Mansion in nothing but a military cap, her combat boots, camouflage booty shorts, and a very short and thin camouflage tank top that just shows the bottom of her boobs with perky nipples Ahahaha.... Oh Yeah !

I saw now a video of the wii re-release of REmake and I noticed the presence of the same effects whose absence created a turmoil in the pc re4uhd (specular highlight and bump mapping effects). I hope that Capcom will not be lazy again and properly implement them this time. And even better flames (similar to gamecube-wii) than the lame re4uhd ones (see the pyre at the village).
I already saw apparently missing character shadow in some promotional images, this make me a bit worried!

I don't really mind 60 fps in that kind of game. It's pretty slow paced and doesnt have no rapid shennanigans going on, it's not like it's Street Fighter where framerate means a lot due to frames being used for timing button presses and etc., so 30fps can serve REmake just fine

Yeah, you can positively sense 60 fps on resident evil 4 but about this one, we can live happily with 30fps. Other than that, scenario's animations were made for 30fps, so it's an imposed choice!

I wonder if there's any chance they've moved this over to a new engine. I learned that the recent Code Veronica port was actually done using the MT Framework engine, and that explains the massive differences in lighting between the original and the port. REmaster also has very different lighting from the original, so either they wrote lighting rendering routines from scratch or they're using the lighting from a different engine.
Either way, we'll see when the game comes out. Hopefully it won't be difficult to mod.
